Thank you for th input! We currently consume about a 12-18 pack of eggs every 2 weeks. So I was thinking between 4 bantams we'd get enough, but of course that's perfect scenario calculation. There's always the possibility of getting 1 true layer, I was just hoping for a uniform flock. But thats why I'm here to hear from those who have experience because I wont have the option to get over 4 birds.Welcome from Oregon. My first word of advice, if you want egg layers, Bantam's are probably not the route to go, because they lay reasonably small eggs. They're adorable and friendly, our neighbors have 2, but the eggs are a little small for regular consumption. You would need a lot of them. Do what's best for your family, hope everything works out.
