I have only had chickens for about a year and a half. It started with my son's girlfriend and her silkie...then 4 bielefelders...then we decided to hatch a few eggs ourselves and got 3 more bielefelders and a bielefelder/silkie mix...then the kids got more chicks of which we lost all but one, a lavender Americauna. We also lost the silkie and one of the original bielefelder girls, all to racoons. So I said no more! Lol...I'm grounded from chick days now. Now we have 4 silver laced wyndottes, 2 white leghorns (I think lol) and 3 barred rocks...Chicken math is real!! I've learned so much from this group since I started that I figured it was time to join. Oh, and a friend is hatching some americauna eggs just so we can see who the daddy is lol bielefelder or bielefelder/silkie...but they don't count right?!
