Just wanted to introduce myself quick.

I am pretty new to chickens, and still learning a lot. We got 11 along with a coop in June, but since then have lost 4. Which is why I am here and looking for ideas. I would really like to have around 30-40 chickens and possibly 2 Nigerian dwarf milking goats, and honey bees. We live on 2.5 acres, but a majority of it is wooded. I would love to have my own little homestead, that can be easily managed while working outside the house full time.

Hello and welcome to BYC

BYC has a sister site that you may also wish to join - http://www.backyardherds.com/

Here’s a link to the Articles section - https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/ There you’ll find lots of information on almost every aspect of keeping chickens - from coop building ideas, to incubating eggs.

Each week, various topics are discussed, which can also be a great resource - https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/topic-of-the-week-thread-archive
