New to the board, but not new to chickens, homesteading, etc.

I joined because a friend from my board knows I've been looking for some layers up in NW Pa and W NY area.

We just moved (from Ohio) to this new homestead, so we don't have chickens as of yet. Our flock just about got decimated by a fox in Ohio, so we are starting new here. We were hoping to start with some layers (for now) and then get or raise some chicks. I am supposed to pick up some Roo's Monday that are 6 months old off of freecycle. A couple of them will go in the stew pot, but I will save a couple for the hens we will be getting.

I am enjoying the pics of the coops. My coop (here at the new place) will be an old shed that was out back when we bought the place. Looks like it started (many moons ago) as a coop, was turned to a shed, so I figure it's fittin' that it become a coop again.
