Thank you! I've enjoyed everything here so far. I'm actually quite shocked that there's so many people addicted to chickens! I just got mine at a local Tractor Supply, so I have no idea what kind they are. I had 6 hens five years ago, one is left from that flock. She's spoiled. Well, time for bed, work early tomorrow! Welcome to the BYC family.

I love my chickens, they make me laugh with their silly antics. Especially when I have hard boiled eggs and sunflower seeds in my hands. You'd think that they haven't eaten in days, and they are sooo impatient.

Anyway, have fun with your new chicks. I am relatively new to this whole chicken addiction, but at least I know that I have a lot of people to talk me through it.

I finally got my order in to MMH. Now I have a three month wait for a 25 pack of, you guessed it: Sexed Buff Orpingtons. Y'alls pictures have me jealous.

What a color-filled brooder! Boy that little duck looking up at the lamp seems to be thinking of how he could be useing it as an escape mechanism of some sort!

I bet s/he'll be a hand full of trouble/fun before long!

Good morning fellow chicken addicts!

Its a sad morning here, the cuter one of my Buff Brahma Bantam babys died during the night. I only ordered 5 and I was really hoping all would make it. The hatchery said they usually throw in extra Bantams because they are more fragile, but they didn't

I can only keep pullets, so hopefully most of the last 4 wont turn out to be lil boys!

I've gotten really attached to theses little babies in 2 days time, I can barely bring myself to part with the 8 that are going to our friend lol.
