Really would like to buy locally. Most of the farm stores around here this year are demanding a min. 25 chicks and i reall y only need/want 6-8. Would love to find some hens already laying. And raise a few chicks maybe i'll get the banties as chicks and the layers adults so i can have some eggs now.

I dont know if you live anywhere close to an Orschlens farm supply, but they have baby chicks in now!
I was there yesterday at the one in Corydon, and came home with 14 new babys!
And I told myself I would only buy chicken food.. only buy chicken food.. Only buy food, but it wont hurt to just look at them would it? Yeah right!
