Hi I’ve just joined I incubated three eggs as a project with my niece, I’ve always had chickens growing up, I’ve reared with lots of love a 15 week old cockerel he keeps biting me and my ankles he will just turn on me only in last week any help greatly appreciated

Hiya, Michelle, and welcome to BYC! :frow

Like @N F C said, one way to deal with overly aggressive cockerels is to cull them. You can try separate him to a pen or place all by himself for a few weeks to see if he settles down. The problem is, that can take months to only find out, he's just a mean rooster you don't want.

It's hard sometimes but it makes your life and hen's lives much more peaceful to just have a normal, nice rooster watching out for them, not attacking them or you.

Welcome to BYC, Michelle. I have a hand reared hen who bites when she wants my attention. I love the little dickens. I just pick her up and hold her for a few minutes. That usually does the trick for a few days. I've found roosters sometimes need correcting more often. You may need to hold him every day for a while. A quick "peck" on his head with your finger can be a big deterrent also. You may feel bad about correcting him, but its in his best interest to behave.
