The reason why I said Orpington was because of how he looked in the first picture. Sitting down he looked plump with the body build of the Orpington. Now that he's standing up, he doesn't look as plump and his body build is closer to a Rhode Island Red, though a little heavier than that. (I'm not saying that RIR is in his blood.) His shanks are a little shorter, which also says no on RIR, and his shanks are too dark to be Orpington.
(If you notice here, I'm going by body shape more than colors. Colors help, though not always. He could be a Buff Orpington mixed with a Black Jersey Giant with those colors.)
Size helps a lot! He may have Jersey Giant in him...Here he is standing up! One thing I’ve noticed is that he towers over all the other chickens in the flock, and by no means are the chickens that I have small…except for maybe one lol. One is an Ameraucana(correct me if I spelt it wrong), and the two others are these big bielefelder hens.
