Hi my name is Christina I am the proud owner of two chickens. One is a splash who I named scara who used to be scarlet but I think is actually a scara who is about 6 months now, and a porridge who is about 5 months or so now named sparkles. I just love animals in general though I never thought I would be a bird person till I raised my first silkie chicks. I just couldn't help but want to know more and be part of all things chickens.

I really think you need to re-evaluate your coop. Anything less than forty chickens is a tragedy.

So happy to have you! I’m the proud keeper of 2 Buff Orpingtons, a black Australorp, and a Gold Laced Wyandotte. They are good layers, mostly friendly, and just a hoot all day long.

I did have 4, but 3 out of the 4
Were roosters and the breeder wont have more splashes till spring. But luckly she takes back roosters but as for the one I kept I still dont know if he is a she or she is a he but either way it is far to beautiful and sweet to not keep but i want a full splash flock when i can get more

two is a nice even number but 3 would be better. If you lose one, the remaining chick will be lonely. Chickens are flock animals and do better with others around them.
