Hi I have a Bourbon Red Hen and A bronze stag. The Bourbon hen lays down in front of him but he has no interest in mating. He struts around the coop but there is no action. Has anyone ever experienced this. Any help appreciated.

Are there more than 1 hen in the area with him? He might just do it when no ones there too.

Hi thanks for replying I have only one hen in the run with him. I’m there almost all the time and no signs of mating.

Is she laying yet? How old are they? you might want to get him more hens. What kind of habitat do they live in? would they be stressed?

I rarely see my toms mating with the hens. I know they are successfully mating because I get fertile eggs. Each turkey has its own ways of doing things. My current lead tom tends to get the job done the first thing in the morning and then spends the rest of the day strutting.

First year I never seen them mate. Crack an egg and look for a bullseye
