I have been doing it for many years as the duck egg's do not know the difference the
whole thing is do the eggs fit in the slots with out falling out and the real difference is
you will need to squirt water on the egg's or up the humidity and I just squirt water on
them with a squirt bottle

Always better to ask if you are unsure

Mine is about the same distance and I hatch out goose eggs in there
as I am not trying to cook them but if it makes you feel better put
a thermometer on top of your egg's and make sure the top temp never
goes over 102 with out a fan and 99.5 with a fan
