Hi I'm new to everything chicken!

007Sean, I see a turkey in your avatar! I love turkeys! How many do you have? Where do they live?
That isn't a turkey, it's an Elliot pheasant! I had turkeys along time ago...wild Rio Grande. I caught them one day at our ranch in Zavala county. They were about a week old, chased down 4 of them but only 2 survived, both jakes. There's pics of them on the Members Interview thread.

Hi and welcome to BYC :frow We're so happy you've decided to join us:ya
If you're on the Tennessee side, pop over and visit us on the Tennessee Thread.

I'm on the NC side, but we go to TN often! We have season passes to Dollywood ;) It takes us about an hour to get there when Newfound Gap Rd opens. I'm not a fan of crowds, but we have two little kids and summers off, so it's lots of fun for them and not a ton of work for us.
I did stop by the NC thread, but there were SO many different locations! NC has every possible climate all in one state lol!

Wow, I obviously have a lot to learn! What a beautiful bird! I can already see that this backyard chickening thing is going to get out of hand fast! lol!

welcome from Getaclue.gif
Very nice introduction!

Your Dog will be great protection during the day. I would suspect that you will need a very secure coop for night though. Lots of predators in the mountains
