I never would have thought to ask this question unless I was giving my chicken expensive bottled water. I don't monitor their intake as I keep them on float valve waterers so I do not have to think about it personally.

From what I have read running out of water can completely halt egg production(not that that is my goal), but suspect they may need less in winter vs our brutal summers. I wish you the best and once again welcome to the community.
