Hello everyone! I was just wondering what this little dudes breed was, or if he's a mix. I got him around 5 months ago from a vendor that didn't even know what the breed was, I thought why not get one to see what it would grow into. At first I thought it was some kind of dark brahma but he's really more gold then anything. Im also assuming its a boy but im not expert:idunno.
Thanks in advance, and apologies for the frankly sloppy pictures, he couldn't stay still lol

im gonna say dark brahma x gold laced cochin cross

looks like your little man here got the straight comb

I don’t know much about Cochins, but I believe they’re not supposed to have vulture hocks.

Pet quality golden laced Cochin sounds about right, but he just might be a very successful mix of mixes.

Very pretty guy though

as a self proclaimed "expert of cochins" i dont think hes pure cochin

he could have some langshan in him

hes fairly lanky to be a cochin cochins are typically pretty round

You obviously know much more about Cochins than I do, but I’d expect a juvenile bird, a male, no less, of any breed to be fairly “lanky”.

Maybe showing us some pictures of your adolescent males would help more, since both of those examples look to be from mature roosters
