Hi!
About a year and a half ago my friend sent me a link from this website where someone had converted his Eglu omlet to house ducks.
It took roots in my mind and then it took some time for me to gather all I needed to bring some ducks into my garden in an omlet.

I have 5 white and 1 brown Indian runner ducks. If all of them stay is depending on what sex they are and what group will form. They were born at the end of July and moved into my garden at the end of August.
We live in the Netherlands in a small food forest that I've been planting in the past 5 years.
Everybody asks me if I have names for the ducks, but I can't keep the white ones apart.

I'm really happy they are here, they are fun to watch, come and keep me company when I work in the garden and their bedding is a very welcome component in my compost system.

😁

Oh, I love them. They’re so adorable aren’t runners just so special and fancy I have a few of them myself. They are some of my favorites here. I hope you end up able to keep them all and hopefully a good ratio.

Hiya, and welcome to BYC! :frow

Your ducks are so cute and look like they're having fun. That's the thing about ducks is they always seem to be smiling to me. We just got two this spring, against both of our better judgement, but it turns out we love them so much.

We're glad you're here!

Thanks for the kind and friendly welcome here.
A bit more on what I'm doing outside:
Around 90% of all the plants in my no dig edible garden are native. They are my structure that will ensure there are enough pollinators for my fruit and nut trees that are from other regions. There are a few exotics I couldn't resist like a winterhardy banana (musa basjo) that will never bear fruit and pretty things like an albizia or a kerria Japonica. Also: roses. I jist love them! I'm now at 23 varieties. All biological as well.
Around everything is a broad hedge made of loads of native plants, but the main things are prickly hawthorn, blackthorn and sea buckthorn. In a few years I hope I can do some hedge laying so my ducks will stay in the garden.

There are no chemicals in my garden at all and all plants are biological or cuttings from plants that are really old and before everything here was pumped full of pesticides.
I tried a paw paw, but didn't have enough shade yet, so I might get a new one next year.

Your garden sounds impressive. If you care to share a couple of pictures, I'd like to see it!
