I think your other thread is in the perfect place, lots of helpful answers so far. Super great idea getting an early start on your planning. It is important to know your limitations and sounds like you're willing to put forth some time in research. After finding the breeds that work best for you, you'll also have to make sure you have a coop and run that works best for them... I will leave you with some links to my favorite articles that were extremely helpful:

Best wishes starting your new adventure!

Welcome to Backyard Chickens! We are glad you joined the flock!:welcome BYC is a helpful site providing all of the information you need to know about poultry. There is always space for members on the BYC roost!:highfive:

Checking out those articles would be a great idea that some of the members provided for you. Telling us your location might be an important factor as well since some breeds aren't as tolerant to extreme heat or cold weather conditions.

Hope you enjoy it here as much as we all do!

Thanks so much to everyone! I don't have the time to respond to everyone individually but I'm very appreciate to everyone. I've already been pointed in a lot of wonderful directions. A lot of things have been brought to my attention that I never would have considered had I not come here. I appreciate everyone who has shared their wisdom with me.
