Hi, Thanks for allowing me to join. I have many questions regarding becoming a new chicken owner.

Thanks for all the positive input!, I appreciate it. I've looked through a few articles,.. she sure looks like a Welsummer to me,..,.. much more so than a Leghorn? those of you who suggested Leghorn, what was the indicator for you?
They look very similar, Welsummers have red earlobes and lay brown speckled eggs, Brown Leghorns have white earlobes and lay white eggs. She’s beautiful 🥰 If you zoom in this picture you can see my Welsummer has red ear lobes.

Both look very similar, but Brown Leghorns have large white earlobes, whilst Welsummers have red. Here's a photo of a Leghorn from google.

When they start laying, a Welsummer lays brown eggs, and a Leghorn lays white.

It’s crazy to me that those 2 unrelated breeds look so much alike! I don’t have Leghorns, but my Welsummer also has a tail unlike other chickens I’ve seen. Can’t explain it, but my 5 year old great niece insists she’s a “little turkey” 🤣
