(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
- I have had chickens but I recently got pet Button Quails. (King/Chinese painted quails)
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
- I have 2 pairs and I'm looking to add more hens.
(3) What breeds do you have?
-Button Quails (King/Chinese painted quails).
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
- They are silly little birds. Love receiving eggs and the cute little chirping.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
- We also have a dog, 2 cats, and a 45 gallon aquarium.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
- I was looking for general inquiries about Button quails and kept coming back to this website. Since I have been looking for a community with hopefully a good mix of new and experienced quail owners, I decided to join here
Picture is of when we first brought them home. The pairs supposedly lived happily together but we noticed the blue becoming more aggressive towards the silver male, so they got separated (with their girlfriends). Recently started looking into adding hens.
