Hello,
I've been thinking about chickens for a while, but I just rescued some kids from two barred rock Roosters. The kids were scared of the roosters, the roosters didn't actually hurt anyone. At any rate, I have two roosters in my garage, in separate dog kennels, each kennel sized for a Doberman. You would think this means I have Dobermans, nope. have two very old rat terriers with entitlement issues. The cages were for travel. Now they are temporary chicken condos. I'll start coop construction asap. My preliminary plan is to trade for two barred rock hens and keep one of the roosters. Anyway, I'm green as grass with this new endeavor, but I am excited. My only poultry experience is with bantams when I was 10, I'm currently 50.
