Hi SoFluffy. Welcome to BYC. Some people I know do have night boxes for their roosters so they can keep them. I havent heard recently of anyone having issues with councils over having roosters when they do what they can to keep it from crowing too early in the morning. Some of the best I have seen were made from a recycled cupboard - not as much work to convert them and cheap from an OP shop usually. I know of three people in Werribee that have more than 50 chooks each - Roosters at each house and no Council issues -but it is better to be cautious and not give the neighbours reason to complain.
