We're glad to have you.

There are two easy methods usually used to tell gender in ducks:

  • Voice. For most breeds of ducks, the males will make dry, raspy, relatively quiet noises. The females are the ones that quack loudly.
  • Sex-Feathers. Male ducks usually develop so called sex-feathers, or drake feathers on top of their tail. These feathers are small and curled. Females do not get them.

Another way to sex ducks is vent sexing, but that can be more complicated.
