(What do you mean? Simper actually is another word for smiling. :lol: )

"Yes, it does." She agreed. "And while I was being taught magic I'd often do this; Snalglí." Islanzadi cupped her hands, and a few golden butterflies that seemed to be made out of mist formed in her hands and flew around the clearing, putting a slight golden light upon the area and everything in it.

"It was one of the simpler spells. I haven't used it in years, I'm surprised I still can." She laughed.

( Oh, well I learned a new word. ;) )
Cicero gasped at the magic. He was always amazed by how easy it looked. He shifted his weight to his hip and stretched out onto his side, while propped up on his elbow. He looked across the clearing as he watched the golden butterflies. "Magic is so much a part of my culture too. So muchso, that the absence of it, is very profound." Cicero said quietly.

"All except Nidhogg are good, strong little dragons. I'm hopeful that we can get Nidhogg to overcome her timidness, for she will not survive among other dragons the way she is. Speaking of,"Slygotha turned to Reaper,"while you were away during your journey, did you see any brethren, any at all? Are there any other chromatic dragons? Was there news of other black dragons hidden away like ourselves?" Slygotha, despite her hermit ways, was curious about other dragons, especially since they had new wyrmlings that would eventually leave to stake out their own territory in 100 years. Slygotha didn't want to let them go out. She was a little afraid of this new world Reaper had described.

"I only saw two dragons in my time away. A three headed dragon (a Balor) that was diamond scaled. I believe her name was Aeval. And a red fire dragon named Pyro. As far as black dragons, I've only heard tell of a massive black dragoness by the name of Nightmare, that gaurds a mountain sanctuary for the shifters. But I have no news of any other Black dragons sequestered." Reaper replied with some thought.

Slygotha leaned back on her haunches thoughtfully. " It isn't urgent. I would like my young to be able to secure their own mates some day, but that won't be nessesary for several hundred years. Still, it would be their own decision after all." She glanced out the door, wrinkling her snout. " A red still lives? Those fire vomiters are usually full of bravado and less full of brains. How was this red? Haughty as I remember them to be? Demanding tribute and terrorizing everything for miles around? For as brash as they are, I would have thought they would have gone extinct first." She turned back to Reaper," unless this red was different somehow. Was it different? And, I haven't met any balors before, so my knowledge of them isn't very high. I only know of those dragons from the earth realm.

Islanzadi sat down in the grass and watched the butterflies flutter around calmly.

"Do you enjoy the absence of it at all?" She asked curiously. "And to just be around nature?"

Reaper frowned in thought and said, "Strangely enough, this fellow named Markus had a spell upon the fire dragon. To make him look like another the king wanted, so that once he was brought back to the stronghold, he'd attack King Racine's people. But Racine didn't fall for it and the ruse was found out. Fortunately King Racine had an ice god with him and he couldn't do as much damage. Then all at once, the fire dragon left the fight, as if he was being called away. So I followed at a discreet distance to find out why. That's when I saw a female shifter in a suit of armor with a fire dragon ring. It was that ring that had called him to her. For he treated her like his master. I'd say they've either changed to adapt or have all been enslaved to control their temperaments to others desires. As far as the female Balor, I saw her in my human form and she seemed very childlike, she apparently went to ground early and stayed. She was speaking of Roman times." Reaper hoped he'd made some sense and that he wasn't just rambling aimlessly. He looked to Slygotha for her opinions on his observations.

Cicero looked up to Islanzadi slightly confused. "The absence of what? Magic? You can't miss something you had not control of. I can use charms and such, but no fey magic myself. Do you have to be magical to do your magic? " He asked curiously.

"No, the magic elves use can really be used by anyone, if we offer to teach it to them. We taught a human once, his name was Brom. He had been abandoned by his family for being blind in one eye and managed to wander so far into the woods that he found our kingdom. He was just a harmless child, so we took him in and raised him. Brom became extremely skilled with our magic, but stayed loyal and never used it against our kind." Islanzadi told Cicero pleasantly.
"Of course, most humans were more reasonable, responsible, and hard working back then. So it wasn't difficult to find a human with peace of mind. I doubt I could ever find a human like that again, their society has changed so much." She sighed.

When her eyes were swollen and no more tears would come, Lexi sniffles and asked piteously, "How can I make it up to him, Shane?"
~~~
Falkirk took it all in in awe. He stood in pegasus form, before shifting to his fey form. He did not look her in the eyes, but looked to her throat in submission. "Our presence here is purely by accident. I assure you Highness. One moment we were in Anstopfia and the next we were here. I am Prince Falkirk Lorelock and my companion here is Princess Star." He replied as he bowed formally. When he straightened he glanced to Star and fought the urge to reach out his hand to her.
~~~
Maxton nodded and motioned to Jackdaw to start digging. He moved back out of the way of the Jackdaw's venomous thorns, while gently guiding Sorcha to the side.
~~~
Cadeon shook his head and said, "Sadly, no. Is it that difficult to learn? " He asked. He'd not been such a good shot with the gun at first. But had drastically improved with practice.
Navar grinned at the thought of that. That was very impressive. But he noticed her watching the numbers and remembered something Amar had said once. Saying he was often overzealous. He didn’t want to come across as relentlessly pestering Rana. So he grew quiet and slipped his hands in his pockets. As he leaned against the elevator wall, he glanced to Ember and Cadeon's conversation.
~~~
Ravek stilled at her knowledgeable description. "Yes, that is it exactly." He replied softly.
Shane kept rubbing her back as she seemed to settle a bit "That is simple enough, you learn to be your own person now. You become the better person we are all meant to be."
~~~
Star shifted, standing and looking to the queen then bowing her head to her when Falkirk introduced her. When the water stopped swirling around her quite as much, she moved to stand by her mate's side, taking his hand in hers.
"I am called Queen Nabal Aryxon. Tell me what is happening in your realm since we were banished to this one." She said, letting them go together.
~~~
Sorcha moved back then shifted to her fae dragon form, looking around then humming softly as she searched the area for any magic that would stand out from the tree and waterfall magic nearby.

Bardou had paused and was staring at the tree of life. He glanced to the others then moved closer to look at one thing he had never expected to see again in his life.He slowly moved closer, touching his nose to the trunk of the tree then bowing his head before turning to go and look at the waterfall. "Falkirk, Star?" He asked as he caught their scents. Not that old either. He followed them then snorted and stopped, scanning around the area then going back to where they both disappeared together. "Odd" He said, searching for Jackdaw's mind to let him know what he had found there.
~~~
"No, it is not that hard to learn, just a different way to use your muscles." Ember said with a smile "It is nothing like a gun, beyond that you can be further away from your target than a sword or other blunt instrument."
"This is an odd contraption" Rana said after a few floors had passed. "To be able to go up and down with whatever can fit in it. What did your people call it again, an elevator?" She asked and looked to Navar again "I like to watch the numbers change but it doesn't feel anything like flying."
~~~
Anna nodded and sighed "I may not know most of the history and abilities we may have from our fae ancestor, but we all know that kind of grief." She said then focused her gaze on an apple "I twirled to Zypher and his attempt to twirl back soothes me, but another part is not satisfied with that. It is enough but I can feel that it is missing something."
