Vaughan looked at the paper and sniffed it. It reminded him of something, but what he couldn't recall. So he focused on it intently, hoping it would spark a memory.

Racine returned to his war room. As he walked in, all his generals stood up and slammed their clenched fist to their chests and heads bowed their heads. "Our, King!" They all said in unison.

Racine continued to walk over to a gazing pool, paying his men no mind.

Like the ones about mermaids, they will call out to humans to get them to drown in the water so they can eat them, but it's not just men they call to.
