Star smiled, happy to be there with him. She moved back only to keep from hitting him as they treaded water to stay afloat. With a giggle, she turned and went to shore, sitting on a rock and looking back to him happily.

"You cannot grow up free and tolerate bars around you. It is not a natural state." Kyra said then sighed "you could get used to it, but never be happy deep down. That is what he did not understand."

Rana dropped down behind some trees to let her riders off without putting them in danger.

Ember cried out in anger and dived at the van, trying to hit the people that were shooting to eliminate that danger before she would go after the dragon again.

Jackie sighed and sat down, shaking her head. "Now that I do not know, since we would be needed in whatever place we use, if not me then the wolves doctors. This will need a lot of thought and planning if we changed anything." She said then looked at Skylar and Jaxon. "You look worried, is there something else you thought of? "

Anna nodded and gave him a smile. "Yes, father and the other prisoners there will have to be freed before we can relax that much. "

" We don't kill indiscriminately, but if you hurt our friends, you will be hurt." Jason said, flexing his hands to hide the signals he was giving the others, though he couldn't let Rosie be hurt if there was a way to stop it.

Rosie looked to the collar and shook her head. "I am not putting that thing on." She said despite the tremble in her voice. She had heard some stories and didn't want to be trapped in one, not that she would want to have even a normal one on.

Falkirk moved closer to shore so he could stand on the bottom. He cupped his hands and playfully shot water at Star.

Graydon grinned happily and said, " Yes, that's exactly what he didn't understand. I saw it when he captured you. He was so frustrated that you weren't grateful. Like he had saved you in some way." He shook his head in disbelief.

Orson, Bertram and Garth slipped off to the ground as soon as Rana landed. They shifted and headed for the vehicle. Hearing Ember's cry of anger.

The driver kept trying to start the van, but nothing seemed to help. The men behind him backed away from the opened windows as Ember tried to get them with her claws. He took the butt of the rifles and protected themselves.

Jaxon started, at Jackie's question. "No! It's just....I...don't want to be banished to parts unknown. I will swear loyalty to whom ever. Just don't send me away." He rushed to explain.

Zypher nodded agreement to that statment, then looked to the others. He briefly explained where they were going and why. So they would understand their absence.

Nashton was enjoying being carried around like a prized Pekingese. He smiled up at Anna a moment before looking back to the others.

Daniel smiled widely as he heard the roar of engines, as reinforcements headed their way. He'd all but forgot that Markus was on live video feed. So he'd heard every word that's been said and reacted. "Look hero, you have two choices. Run and save yourself or stay and get captured too. Unless you have an army in the underbrush, you don't stand a chance. Markus has heard everything that's be said and sent more units. He likes to put the odds in his favor." He said with great satisfaction. Making sure Rosie didn't try and run for it. He watched Jason with an eagerness in his eyes. He loved his job and all it entailed.

Starr gave a laughing scream and turned to hide behind the rock, waiting for a moment then going over it to jump into the water to splash him.

Kyra nodded "He did get me out of that net and he did let me meet you." She said softly then shrugged "I was glad to not be trapped in the net, but the rest I could have lived without. "

Ember flapped her wings, scrabbling at the guns before flying higher then diving again.

Rana cried out and took off, flying over them to grab the van in her talons to try to pick it up so she could drop it to the ground with or without the people inside. Theirs was a revenge mission, not a rescue for once.

" We are not going to banish you Jaxon. You have done nothing to deserve that kind of treatment. " Jackie said as Skylar moved closer and hugged him gently.

Anna smiled at Nashton then looked at the others to wave bye to them.She wanted to get this done and settled so they could go on with their other plans.

Jason growled and stepped back towards the woods, looking around them. He couldn't risk an attack with the male holding Rosie so close and he couldn't risk the others lives. He wished he knew magic for once, since nothing physical would save them. with another growl, he sent the others i to the woods, sending Ericsson to the vehicles to get him to a safe place.

Falkirk laughed as Star splashed him back. He started backing away from her in the wast deep water, while splashing her back. He loved her playfulness. It made him feel young and carefree.

Graydon froze mid-motion and frowned. Statment was like a knife to the chest. He finally recovered enough to say quietly, "Yes, I'm glad he freed you too. I'm so sorry you had to endure the rest. I'm going to head to the home tree, if that's alright with you." He stared at the entrance to the cave, to not meet her eyes.

The driver bailed and headed for the woods. Where he was met with a still hungry Kelpie and the traitorous gen-one.

The rest of the men saw what awaited them if the fled. So the stayed and tried to dislodge the massive talons from the windows of the van. They knew what the creature was planning. Rick got a pair of bolt cutters and went to trying to cut the thick talons. While the others shot at them.

Orson ramed into the side of the van and made the doors impossible to open. He didn't want anyone else to escape.

As Jaxon embraced Skylar he closed his eyes in deep relief. "Thank goodness. I was mortified for a moment, that my lab mate had sealed my fate." He explained to them all.

Cadeon chuckled lightly and spoke, "We judge not all by the actions of one. That's Markus's mentally. We give everyone a fair try, then go from there." He then plopped down on the couch next to Jackie. Bob climbed up onto the back of the couch and mad a happy musical song. Picking up on the mood of the room.

Zypher grabbed the car keys to a non-discript sedan and headed for the door.

Daniel smiled at his victory. He then looked down at his catch. "Seems that you're all mine. Now put on the collar before I make you regret it." He said with dark humor.

Ericsson was fighting their hold as the walked. "Let me go! We can't leave her to that animal! Is this you idea of a rescue? You said trust your alpha, but he just let him have Rosie. Trade me for her, I deserve to be captured, not her! She's an innocent in all this. Please, stop! Before it's too late. " He replied in desperation.

Rana lifted off, flying just high enough to toss the van away from the roadm making it roll before it came to a rest against a tree.

Ember flew up, watching for the dragon to attack him again when he showed himself.

"We would not have Garth here if we thought you were all the same. Everyone is an individual and has the choice to do what they will." Skylar said as she hugged him back.

Jackie chuckled and looked to Bob at his trill. She was glad he was happy even with Ember not here.

Anna followed him with Nashton in her arms like a prized pet. The thought was enough to draw a chuckle from her.

Rosie bit her lip, shaking her head. She did not want to put the thing on at all."Just let me go" She said pleadingly

"Do you honestly think she is defenseless? Or alone?" One of the wolves asked Ericsson. "We have to get you to safety, she will be with a different group once freed."

Jason made a call, asking for Aurora to come out to help them save Rosie as he watched from hiding.

Falkirk was so focused on splashing Star, that he didn't notice the drop off in the river bed, until it was too late. He slipped under the water with such swiftness, he hadn't mustered a sound.

Graydon nodded slightly, when she came out. He shifted the weight of the basket in his arms. Seeing she was ready to head back to the tree, he started walking with her.

The men left in the van did the bug in a jar as the van rolled and came to a stop aagainst the tree. It was a hard impact the sent them tumbling on top of eachother in a mound of groans.

Chaos hand fled to the woods when Ember had gone for the vehicle instead if taking him on. He had to get back to Menagerie to let Markus know he'd been successful in his mission.

Zypher grinned at them as he glanced back at them. He was still waiting for the elevator to reach them.

Greg walked up to the back of the SUV. He snorted and said with humor, " Well, well. What do we have here? Looks like you caught a wee little one. She do this to your men?"

Daniel cursed silently and said with a sneer, "No, she had plenty of help. They fled like the shifter cowards they are. Now let's get out of here. Grab that collar and help me get it on her."

"Whao! You aren't my boss boy. You best mind your tounge, before it's cut from your smart mouth." Greg barked. His unit coming up to surround the clearing. Setting up a perimeter and look outs.

Ericsson snapped his mouth shut. He flushed in part frustration and part embarrassment. Rosie had told him she was trained to defend herself. He just hated seeing her if that monsters hands. When he found his voice again, he said, " I'm sorry. I ment no disrespect. Forgive my harsh words." He then followed the instructions of the wolves.

Starr frowned at the quick disappearance. At first she thought he was playing a different way, but then she got scared and moved closer, looking through the water for him "Falkirk?"

Kyra frowned a little, sensing something was wrong but she didn't know what. She looked to him after they had walked for a little while "What is wrong Graydon?" She asked worriedly.

Ember cried out in frustration and flew higher, searching for the dragon in human form. She did not want him to get away again.

Rana landed and looked at the van then the others before going over to use her talons to try to make a hole. She wanted to be certain these humans were dead before going after that dragon

Anna looked to the elevator too. It didn't usually take this long to reach them even when it was on the ground floor.

Rosie cursed silently. Now there were more of them how was she going to get away? The collar had dropped from her hand at the appearance of the other man but that would only buy a moment or two. "Just let me go already, I told you I am just a nurse here." She said, trying once more to get loose from him.

Jason watched the humans. If his wolves had done as they should have, then the humans at the perimeters would soon start finding traps, some explosive, some just meant to buy time by hanging the men by a foot from a tree. He just hoped they had had time to get them done before the humans had arrived.

"You have picked her for a mate, or a possible one. You want to protect her, but right now you are not that strong so you have to be protected. You will be well soon enough then you can start to learn our way of fighting." One of the wolves said, holding his arm lightly. "Besides, if you go back now, you might find yourself in one of our traps."

Chaos was staying to heavily wooded areas. To limit the possibility of being seen from the air. He'd known better then to take to the skies. He heard Ember's distant cries grow closer, so he knew she was now in active pursuit. He was getting fairly close to Menagerie. Just over that ridge was the highway tunnel. The question was, was he going to make it?

Bertram got a large branch and used it to bust out the shattered windshield. "There you go. Just like sardines, there for the taking." He said with enthusiasm.

Orson shifted and motioned for Garth to climb on his back. They needed to lend ground support to Ember. If they could flush Chaos out, then Ember could get a bead on him. Once Garth was on, he took off like a rocket.

Garth struggled for a grip, before finally grabbing a handful of mane. "You know I can run myself, right?" He asked politely.

Orson made a soft sound then stated, "Yes, but I'm fey. Almost impossible to get winded. So this way, you conserve your strength for whatever is up ahead.

Garth saw the logic in that and said nothing more.

Zypher pulled out his phone and called the control room for the building. Perhaps there was elevator maintenance or perhaps a resident was moving. He'd been so busy lately he was kind of out of the loop. Start with the simplest explanations, before you assumed the worst.

"No, sugar. We can't just let you go. You may just be a nurse, but you may still know something about them shifters. We like to explore every options. " Greg said, as Daniel forced Rosie to get up. He looked her over with an appreciative glance. He grinned widely, as he stepped up to her. He gripped her jaw between thumb and forefinger. "I think with you, I'll enjoy that last part, very much." Just then an, a yelp of one of his men drew his attention way from Rosie. He motioned for it to be investigated. "Secure the prisoner in the cage in back of my vehicle. I'm not taking any chances. They run away like a cowards, did they. Not likely." Greg replied softly, as he looked at Daniel with distaste.

Ember flew high, going quiet as she started to make circles high over them so she could see the easiest. She didn't catch sight of him until he was at the ridge. She cried out once more and dived at him to attack his weaker human form.

Rana chuckled and reached in with a talon to grab one of the bodies. She was big enough to eat them like a normal eagle would be able to eat a mouse.

Anna looked at him, getting worried "Should we check the video feed?" She asked, glancing back to the room then to him again.

Rosie whimpered when he grabbed her jaw. She would play the weak female as long as it took to get away from him. She slid a glance over to Greg then focused on Daniel again. When he was distracted, she took the chance and shoved him at the other male to try to run around the van and to the woods.

Graydon nodded in thought at that reasoning. "I never thought of it that way. That's a very good way of putting it, Kyra." He admitted freely.

Chaos cat movement up over head by the shadow Ember cast. He quickly shifted to engage in battle with the blue phoenix.

Orson sped along, trying to catch up with where Ember had flown.

Bertram nodded his appreciation of the massive eagle. He was sure to keep an eye out for possible dangers while Rana as snacking.

Zypher frowned and started back to the room. "I suppose. But I would have gotten an alarm warning on my phone, if there was a breach. I designed the system myself." He explained.

Greg grunted as he was thrown off balance. He collided into Daniel with enough force to knock them both to the ground. He quickly looked back to where Rosie had been and cursed. "Get her you imbeciles! She getting away! "

Mickelson stepped forward to do as ordered, only to set off an explosion from a landmine. Pieces of him rained down upon the clearing like meaty confetti. (×_× = Mickelson)( )

Star smiled and walked closer to him though she was careful of the drop off. She was glad he was alright and feeling playful again. "I am glad you weren't hurt or swallowed."

Kyra smiled at him again, glad he was feeling better about it, though she suspected that it had been something she had said before that was the cause of his stepping back from her. "Sometimes it takes something bad to know when you have something good." She said, it was something she had overheard before, but it fit and sounded right.

Ember flew down to attack his heads again. She knew the others would be close behind even though they were on foot instead of flying. Her current job was distraction and stalling until they could attack as a group.

Rana finished with the men in the van, looking in after getting the last one then looking to Bertram "I think that is all of them, shall we return to the others?"

Anna frowned but nodded as she followed him to look at the monitors and see what they could see on them "Still it's strange that it didn't come." She said, not liking that little fact.

Rosie ran for the forest's cover, trying to get in before anything caught her again. The explosion caught her off guard, but didn't stop her though she was hit by a piece of the red meat. She waited to get into the trees to shift to her wolf and take off running for the closest river. She would have to be certain she lost the humans before she would dare to go to the safehouse she figured they would take Ericsson to.

Jason chuckled softly and took aim, firing a quick shot at the man that had held Rosie before shifting and taking off himself to reconnect with the others. He would make a call when he was far enough away to try to stop Aurora from coming.
