Star smiled and walked closer to him though she was careful of the drop off. She was glad he was alright and feeling playful again. "I am glad you weren't hurt or swallowed."

Kyra smiled at him again, glad he was feeling better about it, though she suspected that it had been something she had said before that was the cause of his stepping back from her. "Sometimes it takes something bad to know when you have something good." She said, it was something she had overheard before, but it fit and sounded right.

Ember flew down to attack his heads again. She knew the others would be close behind even though they were on foot instead of flying. Her current job was distraction and stalling until they could attack as a group.

Rana finished with the men in the van, looking in after getting the last one then looking to Bertram "I think that is all of them, shall we return to the others?"

Anna frowned but nodded as she followed him to look at the monitors and see what they could see on them "Still it's strange that it didn't come." She said, not liking that little fact.

Rosie ran for the forest's cover, trying to get in before anything caught her again. The explosion caught her off guard, but didn't stop her though she was hit by a piece of the red meat. She waited to get into the trees to shift to her wolf and take off running for the closest river. She would have to be certain she lost the humans before she would dare to go to the safehouse she figured they would take Ericsson to.

Jason chuckled softly and took aim, firing a quick shot at the man that had held Rosie before shifting and taking off himself to reconnect with the others. He would make a call when he was far enough away to try to stop Aurora from coming. 

Falkirk grinned and offered his hand to Star, so they could walk back to shore together. "That is fortunate indeed." He replied happily.

"Yes, I see that now. It's just a matter of perspective in realizing what moments to hold on to." Graydon said quietly.

Orson charged up the ridge and slowed enough to let Garth off. Once free of his passenger, he headed right into the frey, with a now shifted Garth at his side.

Bertram nodded and smiled. " Now that sounds like a wonderful idea. Let's finish this." He said with conviction.

"Ditto." Zypher said. Feeling dread with every step. He'd been so careful keeping hidden from Markus. Had he found their city stronghold? He thought as he headed back to his office. Unaware of the curious inquiries of the few left in the living room. He logged into his computer to view video files. Before the live feed showed nothing out of order. While he was rewinding the video, something else accrued to him. Anna an his walk to the elevator was not present. It was a video loop. But how long had their security been compromised and this loop been playing? He continued to watch the time and date.

Daniel dropped like a sack of potatoes. A bullet to the brain. Greg walked over and looked down at the fool. He shook his head and looked back to where the female had fled. He sounded a whistle to get the attention of the panicking men. "Step back the way you walked and you should be fine. You're all a bunch of Nancys! Let's head out, shows over here." He ordered as he spit on Daniel's body. "I always said you'd be worm bait. Good to know, I wasn't wrong. " He replied with distaste, before heading back to his vehicle.

Rana waited for him to climb on her neck again so they could take off and regather with the others again.

" where are we?" Anna asked, watching over his shoulder and getting concerned about the video. "Do you have anyone to contact on the other floors to find out what is going on? "

Rosie kept running, not looking back at the sound of the shot. She slowed only when Jason's larger wolf joined her then the two ran side by side to get to a river so she could wash the blood off in the water and they could keep going to the secondary safe house.

He stepped up on the rock and helped Star up. "But is serves me right, since I started the splash fest. Karma, I am told is whst comes around goes around. Even though it's an earth concept, I see the truth in it's teachings." Falkirk said, as he tipped his head slightly. He shrugged and looked out over the water. "It's getting late."

"Oh, I will. Don't worry about that. I really haven't had too many bad ones." Graydon reflected.

Chaos was fighting tooth and nail. He was using his venom, gas and tail to keep them away from the important head. His wing was torn so he couldn't flee by air. But he was slowly inching his way to the highway.

Orson barely dodged a tail thrust. He did manage to latch on to it as it was pulled back. If they took his tail off, it would be one less weapon in his arsenal. But his teeth weren't overly sharp. He ripped at it with his hooves and tugged violently with his attempts.

Garth was ramming into Chaos's side with his horn like tusks. But the scales were fending off the blows. Garth roared in frustration at his failure to help. He still had the call of the banshee, but that was too dangerous with the others around.

Bertram bowed and accepted the offer of a ride. "Thank you much!" He said with respect. He held on tight and moved with her to not impede her movement. For he knew the difference between a good rider and a pain in the back.

"That is how I know it's a loop feed, not a live one. My only other contact in this building was Navar. My reclusive ways, are biting me now. I relied upon my security system too much. What a fool I was. But at the time, all my spare time was watching the monitors." He said with a growl, as the video showed a group of five dress in full black, rush into the parking garage. Then they hacked into the elevator keypad to gain access. Once inside the elevator, they spliced into the video feed. But before they created the loop, the lead figure took off her hood and looked up. She smiled into the camera as the others in the group followed suit. Zypher all but froze, as he watched. For the faces that confronted him, was not human, but from his past. He looked to Anna and explained, "They aren't humans at least. They're hyenas. They're from my birth pack, to be exact."

Ericsson paced the floor, waiting for word about Rosie. It was too quiet, as the wolves stood as look outs. He wasn't a praying man, but he'd been doing nothing but for his sweet Rosie.

It wasn't too long before Rosie and Jason came panting up to the door, shifting to come inside. "Ericsson" Rosie called when she saw him, going to him to hug him close "You are alright" She said, uncaring of what the others saw of her actions.

Jason flushed but shook his head and turned back tot he others in that place to talk to them about what to do next.

Falkirk grinned at that. "They did seem to have a certain chemistry. But I can't help but to think, he's giving us a little privacy as well. He's checked in mentally with me. Especially when he heard you call my name when I fell." He replied happily.

Graydon waited for Kyra to throw down the rope to tie the basket too. Then he climbed up to the door also, to help pull it up.

Garth nodded and said worriedly, "But I don't want to hurt any of us." He looked between her and Orson.

Orson was using a tree to get leverage to keep Chaos from getting any closer to the highway. He glanced to Ember and Garth. Maybe they had a plan.

Bertram watched the ones below. He understood the limitations of Rana's size. "Chaos seems to be grounded at the moment. If he gets to the highway, then we can engage in the battle. Of course after he stops the vehicles. " He said with enthusiasm.

Anna had left before he could respond. He'd watched her head into the bedroom and then down the hallway. He stood and headed to follow her. "They could be anywhere by now. With the surveillance down we can't track their movements. Besides, I'm positive they don't want me. They kicked me out of the pack. My mother was very clear that I was no longer wanted. So it must be for the building. It the only thing that makes sense. But why now and how did they find me?" He thought aloud.

Nashton jumped off the bed and scampered after Anna and Zypher. He'd held his silence out of respect for the alphas, but was very curious about this new threat.

Ericsson rushed into her arms and started squeezing the stuffing out of Rosie. "Am I ok! What about you? You were in the hands of a mad man. Did he hurt you? I felt so helpless, Rosie. How did everything go so wrong? " He asked in disbelief.

Kyra tossed down the rope for him then went inside once he pulled the basket up. She looked around at their home and sighed, touching a countertop. They had almost lost this place and each other and she didn't want that to ever happen.

Ember nodded and looked at Orson "Let him do his attack, move back" She said then flew up to get out of the way so he could use his banshee scream on the dragon.

Rana nodded, watching the battle and the surroundings. She didn't want any surprise attacks to catch her off guard or anything.

"And what if your mother is no longer in charge or changed her mind?" Anna asked. "I doubt they came here just for a building. Either way, we have to get in contact with them." They had to just to be able to leave and take care of their own business.

Rosie buried her face close to his neck to take in his scent. "I am alright, I got away when he was distracted by the traps the others set." She said then pulled back a little and looked to his belly. "Let me see your wound and make sure it isn't torn or anything." She said, preferring to think of that instead of how they had gotten caught.

"Marcus is angry, he's been sending drones out all over to search for us. He has our alpha right now." Jason said, looking to Rosie at her light gasp since she hadn't known.

Orson quickly released Chaos's tail. Then darted behind Garth to get out of range. He shifted to human and covered his ears. Orson remembered all to well, how Garth had almost used that talent on Kristen. How close it had been. Well at least now he's using it for the right reasons.

Garth gathered himself, before he let the cry go. It always takes a few moments before it reaches lethal compacity. When it does, it ruptures all the internal organs.

Chaos writhed in agony as blood trickled out of the nose, ears and eyes of all his heads. He shuddered for the last time, when Garth stopped. Still in his dragon form, Chaos was dead.

Bertram started at the strange sound. He looked urgently for it's source. "What is that hideous sound?" He asked Rana.

Zypher shook his head, "It still doesn't matter. I'm not going back and they will have to leave. They have no authority in the city. That's the guardians territory." He stated needlessly, since Anna was now acting alpha. He then thought, " They effectively have us in lock down. So I imagine they'll be in contact soon. We need to be ready. They may have taken the building, but they won't get us with out a fight. " He replied honestly.

Ericsson lifted his shirt to show Rosie his blood soaked bandage. "I'm fin..." He'd froze at Jason's words. "Now that was unexpected. Now we have to watch the sky and the ground." He said with annoyance. Someone really needed to take down Markus.

"Up here, then we can snack on it whenever we want to." Kyra answered with a grin. "Unless you just want to go downstairs to get a piece?" She asked, teasing him gently again.

Ember waited until she could hear again then dropped down to the ground to shift and check on the dragon. "I need to try to burn the body so he can't get that back." She said, worried about that.

Rana had to fly away to get away from the sound. She shook her head and glanced to Bertram then turned to fly over the area again. " I don't know. "

Falkirk eagerly returned her kiss. It was welcomed, for it echoed his own desires. He'd been wanting to kiss Star, since they'd come out of the cave. He wondered how he ever lived without her.

Graydon caught her jest and smiled broadly. "Good I was hoping you'd say that we could keep it up here. After all, the lion part of me tends to be lazy. " He teased back.

Orson walked over and looked at the Garth, then a dead Chaos. "Remind me to never make you mad" He stated, before looking to Ember. "How far away do you need us to be?" He asked curiously.

Bertram shook his head to clear the ringing in his ears. That's when he saw movement in the sky. "Ummm, what are those? " Bertram asked alarmed.

(Enters two of Markus's attack gargoyles)

Zypher sighed softly as he looked at his computer thinking. He then smiled with an idea. " Have you ever climbed down an elevator shaft? I'm thinking we do a floor by floor sweep. I've never been much for waiting." He replied.

Nashton climbed up on the chair. He sat and listened to them quietly.

Ericsson winced when she first removed the old dressings. But he then distracted himself by watching Rosie's every move. He'd never seen this side of her. He found it endearing. In fact, there was so much about her he didn't know. But one thing was certain, she was so fierce when she was angered. Yet her hands while treating his wounds, were as gentle as could be. Ericsson smiled at Rosie's occasional growls. He absolutely adored this woman. He reflected back to what the wolf had said. He explained softly to her,"I want to learn you ways, Rosie. Though I'm trained in the way of human combat, I'm ready to learn the ways of the wolf. I want to prove myself a worthy....recipient of your kindness. " He couldn't say mate. For he wasn't sure she saw him that way. Sure, they were friends, but the two were vastly different. She probably had lovesick charges where ever she went. It was her job and closeness was part of it. He smiled awkwardly, as he looking to the now clean bandages. "Thank you, Rosie. It feels a lot better now." He admitted.

Star smiled at him. "I liked that. It feels right." She said quietly then kissed him softly again.

Kyra chuckled and hugged him then went over to look out the window. "The tree has grown more leaves. It's harder to see the ground where those men were. They won't be able to see the window or door from there again if they ever come back."

"You can stand as close as you can take thw heat, but it will be hot." Ember said and stood on the dragon to get the flames started so it could burn the body.

Rana clacked her beak, a sign of anger as she turned towards the gargoyles then cried out angrily, wanting them to focus on her instead of the others.

"Elevators, vents. You might be surprised wherea wolf can fit." Anna said and grinned at him "Let's go. " She said eagerly and checked her guns.

Rosie looked up to him and smiled again. "You can prove whatever you want to when you are well, for now, I want you to rest and get well, the others can take care of the fighting and getting our alpha home again."
