Falkirk grinned as he went back to eating. He hadn't realized how hungry he was until now.

Graydon thought back to when Luis had created them. His eyes grew wide at the memory. "They were always beyond his control. They only gave him the illusion of control. " He said as he shook his head.

"I know not how magic works. I didn't realize that they needed the soul bound also. Kelpie magic seems more simple. The only part the physically costs us is our bridal. I'm not sure if that's soul related. It does take our freewill away. So perhaps it is." Bertram speculated, as he stopped to admire the view. "Now that's simply breathtaking. " He admitted freely.

Orson smiled knowingly as he watched Kristen. He loved this female exponentially. Simply because there was no measurable end. She challenged him in every way and fulfilled him just by standing at his side. "Oh, now that's a wonderful technique. " He said with enthusiasm in Kristen's mind.

Cadeon chuckled again ans whispered, "They never seem to catch on. It's like they think we are incapable of such sounds. You're very good at the Bluejays. I never mastered them. The crow family have very complex calls." He couldn't help but to wonder what that call did, but he saw for himself, as several vibrant males closed in to look around.

Aeval glanced to the cube and said, "oh, I sorry." She then checked the progress of the acid, before continuing.

Ericsson looked to Rosie. "I want you safe as well. Besides, I'm not going to be changing into battle until I'm completely healed. So if you want me to go to the coast, I guess I will." He conceded to the look in her eyes.

Jaxon settled in the chair closest to her's. He studied the puzzles unfinished parts and looked for possible pieces.
~~~
Markus shook his head and Don. "I wasn't asking for locations. Merely if you know of any that we could ask assistance from should we need it. " He said with conviction.

(Humm....I'm still thinking. :/ I didn't really expect Anna to find both items. )

Star blinked then smiled at him as she moved to finish eating also. She enjoyed these times of being with him even for so simple a thing as eating.

Kyra blinked and frowned, looking to him again "Then they could escape and wreak havoc whenever they want, or when he makes them mad enough." She said unhappily.

Jackie nodded "That is why a witch protects her familiar, since they share souls. The familiar has a mind of their own, and often offers different views, though with animals, it is only the bound witch that can understand them. That is also why the familiar is often smarter than it's kin, since it has access to more memories and knowledge through the bond." Jackie explained through their link even as she looked at the magnificent view before them.

Kristen chuckled and looked back to him again. "Is it now?" She asked teasingly then looked back to the denuded bush again "Though I think I've won against this bush"

Ember chuckled and watched the birds. "Well, I am a bird myself, like the lyrebird, we can mimic other birds easily." She said then looked around at the ones there again, giving a strange almost quiet call. "I like the hummingbirds, but they are harder to call when out of sight."

"Have you learned streams yet?" Aurora asked, watching the dragon and the cube "Like making a line across the top of the cube?"

Rosie sighed then shrugged "I don't know what I want anymore, besides to have you safe, wherever that is." She said honestly.

Skylar picked up a piece and started trying it in different places, the snow scene was a hard one, since it held mostly white. Most of the trees were already together, leaving the white fox and snow as the center to be done.

"You have my phone and know my daughter's number. She would be able to call a witch, though if they would come is another matter since they would think it a trap." Don said then shrugged "You haven't inspired trust among shifters."

The server came back with their drinks. Fresh brewed ice tea. Falkirk nodded in thanks as he finished his bite. She curtsied and walked away. "It seems I had forgot about the drinks. But fortunately Alla didn't. " He replied honestly.

Graydon shook his head and clarified, "He had set them free. They aren't in a cage at all. I believe they live in a cave."
~~~
Bertram started walking again as he thought about all Jackie had shared with him. "All magic aside, you are an amazing woman, Jackie. You give freely of yourself and your home. Yet you expect nothing in return. You are a rare soul and Sergio is lucky to be apart of it. Just as I'm glad the fates have graced me with coming to know you." He replied softly in her mind. He turned his head to look back at her to express his sincerity.

Orson looked to the bush and replied with a twirl, "You clearly have. But I must admit, it is a nice look. But on that would look better on you, my heart." He looked back at Kristen with a light of approval in his eyes.

Cadeon settled back in the swing and asked, "I never learned the hummingbirds songs. My mother only taught me this art for a sinister reason. She stressed to only hunt the males. But with food so easily attainable, I leave the song birds alone. Well, other than playing this game." He said with a smile.

Aeval looked to her sisters a moment, then shook her head at Aurora's question. "No, I didn't even know that was possible. How do I achieve this stream? " She asked curiously.

Ericsson made a soft sound as he drew Rosie into his arms. "We'll find our way. One way or the other." He murmured, as he kissed the top of her head.

Jaxon pressed a piece around to no avail. "Are you sure this isn't an aptitude test. It seems quite challenging." He said with a chuckle.

"No, I think not. Your daughter is quite formidable. Something tells me she wouldn't accept another call from your phone. Let alone anyone else. I...wasn't very nice when we spoke." He explained with a shrug. "Which is to be expected, because I'm not a nice guy. I didn't get to where I am by being a good samaritan. Blood, death and threats are the currency of my realm. As my father always yelled at me, "Be a man of action and it it all hits the fan, be a man of reaction." So you see, I am my father's son." Markus looked across the way waiting for Xavier's arrival.

Xavier wondered where they were going. This elevator went up and up. Far higher the the cargo one. He'd never rode this one before. When the doors opened, he was forced out into a simple room with a gaurd at the counter. He heard the sound of a helicopter. He started fighting to keep from going. Was this the end? Being dropped to his death from a helicopter?
He thought frantically. The soldiers simply dragged him out.

Zypher passed out the stick gum to Anna and Ackley. "Chew it fast and suck out the sugar. " He then slipped some into his own mouth to do the same."Ackley, starting digging under the fence by the building. " while he worked on a make shift slingshot.

Star chuckled and nodded, taking her cup to get a drink from it. "It is good she remembered. I had only just thought about it myself" She admitted.

"I know he set those spiders free, there were thousands of them when the forest was destroyed." Kyra said then sighed and shook her head "When they are big they will start in on the cities."

"Oh, but there is one thing I expect in return, friendship" Jackie said and smiled, petting his neck again "That is the best thing to give and receive after all" She said happily."Having friends like the wolves is what brought about our meeting in the first place, and that is something I wouldn't change for anything"

Kristen smiled and turned, twirling as she reached up to lick his cheek. She could certainly get used to being an oilin if it meant being with him all of the time like this. "I am so glad we met"

Ember shook her head then chuckled "Bet your mother would have never thought you would fall in love with a bird." She said teasingly then chuckled again "Especially a mythical one like me"

Aurora looked at the cube then to Aeval again "Think of what it feels like when you make the acid balls like that. Then draw the feeling out inside before you shoot it. Let the ball unfold to a stream in your mind first, then it will be so. Try it" She said, watching the other dragoness closely.

Rosie sighed and snuggled against his side as they stood there. She didn't want to live on the run from a crazy man, but if that was what it took, then she would. She certainly didn't want him hurt any more than he already was,

Skylar chuckled then shrugged "Well, if it is, it's one that has no judge to it, just your own mind." She said then found one, chuckling as it slid into place. She glance to him again "It is frustrating for some, yet relaxes others. It is nothing more than a form of entertainment here," She assured him gently

"Blood death and threats are the currency of evil realms, it is much better to have friends and loyal allies that would do anything for you that they are capable of. But that is beside the point. If you have a phone I can use, I know how to talk to my daughter in a way you couldn't imitate if you tried. If the giant is awake, we will need the witch I know to help. And she may know others, including fey, that I am uncertain of, just as I have not memorized the witches number." He said, looking away at that last part because it was not right that he had forgotten, at least to him.

Anna took the gum and started to chew it to get it malleable and take out the sugar. She hoped they had enough time to do this and get the tracker set before the helicopter took off and left them.

Falkirk smiled happily as he held up another sampling. It looked like a purple carrot stick. "This one is my favorite.

Graydon gasped in shock, "Thousands?! There were only two at the time. They must be controlled, but how."

Bertram nickered softly as Jackie stroked his neck. "I'm glad I met you to, Jackie. I've learned that good friends are what makes life worth living. In my wondering around, I had lost sight of that." He communicated through their bond.

Orson made a soft sound as Kristen licked his cheek. "I'm glad, that you're glad that we met. Because I feel the same way. When I was sold into Markus's hands, I never hoped to be happy again. Let alone finding my mate." He rubbed neck and twirled deeply.

Cadeon nodded with a wide smile that filled his expression. "Yep, she wouldn't expect her goofball son to land such a rare beauty. She would adore you, Ember. She'd always wanted a daughter. But she just had boys." He said truthfully.

Aeval nodded and frowned in concentration. Her sisters watched her practice, intrigued to see if she could do what Aurora had said. Aeval sighed and looked to her sisters, "Do you mind? It's hard enough to concentrate without you both think humming the Jeopardy tune." They both burst out laughing. Aeval looked to Aurora and shook her head, "They are forever toddlers." She said with humor. Then focused on the acid stream. Her first try failed and missed. He second attempt, she tried not filling her mouth with acid, but opening her mouth and shooting straight from the gland. She did achieve the stream, but not the accuracy.

Ericsson rocked her gently and held her. He didn't know what to say to comfort her. They were so hypersensitive after their close call.

Jaxon smiled happily at her reassurance. He was pleased she had found a piece. " No, don't get me wrong. I'm enjoying this very much. Both the puzzle and spending time with you." He explained matter-of-fact.

Markus look at Don a long moment. His men know better then to talk with him in that candid manner. But with Don, it didn't spark his anger. It was like when waring Indian tribes sat in truce and spoke. He sighed and fished out Don's phone from his jacket pocket. He then handed it over with a warning, "Don't make me regret this, Don."

Xavier tried a spell, but it came back on him, due to the collar. It paralyzed him temporary. Which to his horror helped the thugs out. They just picked him up and carried him like outdated luggage.

Zypher tried out the slingshot to see if the elastic band from a harness would work. The rock grazed the top of his right hand. He hissed in pain. "I haven't shot one of these since I was a pup." He said with determination.

Ackley had shifted to dig more efficiently. Once the hole was large enough she shifted back to chew the gum, panting softly.

Starr tilted her head then tried the piece he held out to her. She smiled but shook her head, holding up a different thing that looked like a blue pickle "I like these the most so far." She said happily

"Yes, they started as two, a male and a female" Kyra said then shook her head "They mated and had babies, lots of them. How could we stop giant spiders?"

Jackie smiled and nodded at that "Yes, having good friends is almost the best feeling in the world. You know that you will not be alone no matter what." She said as she looked around them to see where they were.

Kristen returned the twirl, hers lighter than his had been but the feeling was the same. She rubbed her head against him also, like a cat marking that she had claimed him. She wasn't even thinking about doing that, it was just a natural reaction to being close.

Ember chuckled softly then settled against his chest again as they rocked in the swing. "I would like to meet your family someday, maybe invite them to our house"

"Again, you have to practice to get it right" Aurora said but she was smiling, proud of her for even getting that far in one day. She glanced over to the girls to check on them then looked back to the cube and Aeval.

She didn't need words, Rosie was content to just be held and to feel loved. After a while she moved back and smiled up at him again "Thank you for that, sometimes it's good to just be." She said gently

Skylar flushed and dipped her head at that "I like this too" She said and tried to distract herself with trying another piece to find it's place.
~~~
Don took the phone from him as he looked back to Marcus then nodded. "For the moment, we are on the same side, odd as that seems." He said then called Anna, moving the microphone away and waiting for her to pick up before speaking to her in wolf. Despite the warnings to get new phones, Anna hadn't had time yet.

Anna gave her piece of gum over to Zypher when the call came through. She answered warily, moving away from the others to speak to him in wolf as well when she was certain it was him. the conversation wasn't long, but Anna was white faced when she hung up. "We have to hurry, we have somewhere we need to be asap" she said when she got back to Zypher and Ackley

Falkirk laughed softly and nodded his head. "Now that one is an interesting flavor." He said.

Graydon swallowed hard and shook his head. "I don't have a clue. They won't eat us for sure. " He said with fear.

Bertram slowed as he looked around. "Well we made it to parts unknown. Because I've never been here before." He stated.
~~~
Orson stood perfectly still for her. He enjoyed the scent of her pheromones as she marked him as hers. He made a soft sound of contentment.

Cadeon smiled at that pleasant thought. "That sounds wonderful. I'll look forward to that someday." He said with happiness.

Aeval tried again, but redirected the stream when it missed. She then held as long as her venom lasted.
~~~
"You needn't thank me, Rosie. For I feel the same way. Silence is golden, after all." Ericsson agreed.

Jaxon smiled as he looked down again to look at the puzzle. She just made him feel all warm and fuzzy. "I'm very glad." He said softly.

While Don was on the phone, he watched as Xavier was loaded on board. He absently listened to the wolf sounds. He thought how interesting to have a hidden language.

Xavier grumbled as they dropped him to the floor of the helicopter.

Zypher looked up from fixing the location device with the gum. He frowned at the looked on Anna's face. He looked around concerned. "You look as if you've seen a ghost. Who was on the phone?" He asked with apprehension in his tone.

Starr chuckled and finished eating what she wanted from the plate. She was not all that hungry, but had come to eat because she knew it was needed and because he had asked her too. She loved that he cared enough to try to take care of her.

Kyna sighed, hugging him but not knowing anything to say to that yet. A giant spider could easily kill even the largest natural forest animal in this area.

Jackie chuckled and looked around then pointed "Oh, go that way, there's something you might like to see" She said, pointing to a cave that had a river flowing out of it.

Kristen trilled again, smiling at him when she was done "I am not entirely sure what that was, but it felt right' She said quietly as she watched his eyes for any reaction.

Ember smiled and snuggled close to his warmth happily. She never wanted to leave him again.
~~
"Good" Aurora said happily. "You are doing wonderfully. Practice these things daily and you will get stronger an better at them."
~~~
Rosie gave him another smile, hugging him then reaching up to give him a kiss. She was glad he felt as she did, it certainly made things easier.

Skylar smiled and tried to focus on the puzzle, though she kept sneaking glanced to him instead. Eventually the two would be able to finish the puzzle together.

Don held the phone even after the dial tone had revealed that the conversation was over. He really missed his daughter and wished he could run free with her again.He understood that that wouldn't happen though.

Anna glanced to the helicopter "My father, he spoke to me in wolf and told me that he was with Marcus and Xavier to try to stop the ancient giant from awakening." She said then shivered "That is far worse than a ghost"

Seeing that Star was finished, Falkirk asked, "Do you think we should get something to take for Jackdaw to eat?"

Graydon hugged her back and huddled in her embrace. Being more a cowardly lion then a Manticore.

"At the risk of sounding like a genie, you wish is my command. " Bertram said with humor, as he started in the direction she had indicated. "I must say I'm incredibly curious, maiden of the forest. I only regret, that I'm not a unicorn. A more noble and fitting steed for your beauty." He replied playfully.

Orson had only pride in his eyes. He then stated simply, "Your Oilin responded in kind to my own actions. It's the Oilin's way of sharing scents and marking their mates. "

Cadeon wrapped his arms a little tighter around Ember and marveled at how much he was thankful for. "I've heard a Phoenix battle cry, what does their regular call sound like?" He asked quietly.

Aeval shifted to her human form and nodded. "Oh we will, we promise. Thank you for your help, Aurora. " She said excitedly.

Ericsson kissed Rosie delicately and savored the soft warmth of her lips. When their lips parted moments later, Ericsson spoke tenderly, " The sweetest kiss I have ever tasted, came when Rosie's velvet lips place it."

Jaxon wasn't unaware of Skylar's frequent glances. He found he stole a few glances himself. As well as a few stolen touches. They were in the guise of his hand brushing aginst hers to get a certain pieces. He'd apologize politely, but he was far from sorry.

Markus gave the order to lift off. He looked to Don and frowned at him holding the phone not saying anything. He looked away to give him as much privacy as their proximity would allow. He was fast discovering he respected the alpha wolf.

Zypher's attention snapped to the helicopter as it's blades speed up for takeoff. He growled as he shifted to hyena and went under the fence. Once through, he shifted again and got out the slingshot. He took aim and tried to factor in wind distribution, then fired. He didn't want the helicopter to get out of range. He held his breath and watched as the gum coated tracking device went wide and missed the target. "No, no, no!" He cried out after them. Feeling to his bones, he'd let Anna down. "I'm sorry, I tried my best. I'm just too rusty at slingshots." He replied sadly.

Nashton had slipped away to get into the building, while the soldiers had carried Xavier out. He had cleverly used the destruction and the open door to go in unnoticed. He'd lucked out and found an elevator maintenance room. He unfortunately had to shift to get the door open, but he quickly slipped into the room. He looked around the room with it's massive gears and cables for an access panel to the shaft it's self. Once he found it, he had to find something to take the screws out. Fortunately there was a screwdriver on a bench. Four screws later, he shifted back to his skunk and climbed inside. He froze as he heard the sound of the elevator doors opening and the soldiers entering to go back down. Nashton cursed silently and quickly climbed to the top of the elevator car. He chewed the main strap of harness to release it from his back. He grabbed it, before it could drop to the car and turned it so the magnets would attach and keep it in place. With a sudden jerk, the elevator started it's downward descent. He looked around alarmed and slightly panicked, but saw the ladder off to the side. He jumped and shifted in mid air, so his human hands could gain purchase on it. He closed his eyes and sent up a silent prayer of thanks, before he climbed back up to the maintenance room. He then replaced the panel and slipped out a back window to meet up with the others. Glad to be his human self and able to walk under his own power. He came around the corner and stopped. What had he missed? He thought frantically as he noted the others distress.

Star looked to him then nodded "I think he would like that" She said gently. "Does he eat meat like Earth wolves do?" She asked curiously.It made sense to her that he would since he was a wolf, even if a magical one.

Kyra didn't want to move from where she was now. She was beyond comfortable in his embrace.

"Prettier perhaps, but not more fitting" Jackie said and chuckled softly as they headed for the cave. She wanted him to go in and see what was inside there. Once you got past the natural spring, it was a crystal cave that could go for miles underground. It would take a water horse or similar creature to get past the spring water to see the cave though

Kristen smiled happily at that, stepping close to hug him once again as well as she could in this form "I'm glad of that, since it is how I feel" She said truthfully

"Our normal calls are mostly inaudible." Ember said then moved, sitting up to shift and speak to him in phoenix before returning to her human form and returning to her resting place in his arms. "We are not songbirds, when kept it it for our fire, no other reason." She said, explaining what her phoenix had said to him

Aurora smiled, going to her human form to hug Aeval "Oh, we are not done yet, but this is enough for today" She said and smiled at her then looked to the beach "You should dismiss that before we leave here, we don't need any humans getting curious and hanging out here."

Rosie flushed but smiled at him. She didn't know what to say to that but she felt the same about him

Skylar smiled as they put the puzzle together, turning to him when they finished it to hug him. "We did it" She said happily, using the excuse to hug him without remorse.

Don sighed, staring at the quiet phone in his hand then glancing up to Xander then to Marcus before looking out the windows deep in thought. If he noticed the sympathetic gesture, he said nothing about it, just glad to have that moment to hear his daughter's voice. He still expected to die, once this was all over. After a long moment, he put the microphone back in place though he continued to watch outside "She will make the calls she can and get magic users to the location. I just pray they will not be needed." He said then paused and looked to Marcus "I lied a little. Two witches and three fey put the giant to sleep, but there was an entire army there to get him weak enough to be forced into that sleep. I pray the spell did not weaken and that we can simply return the stone, maybe shore up the spell with our combined people."

Anna watched the helicopter take off then shook her head "I know where they are going now anyway. We have to get Jackie and hopefully Aurora and any other magic user we can find. The humans may have awoken the sleeping giant" She looked around nodding to Nashton when he returned to them "We will have another chance to tag that helicopter there. But we will need an illusion if we are to keep up the charade that he paralyzed me. Either that or I will not be able to be seen there" She said, waiting on them to regather before heading for the truck to make the calls needed.
