*Hidden Nature* A Shapeshifting RP

"Zypher!" Anna cried out when she had glanced back to see him go down. She tried to get through the hyenas to get to him, but between them, Jason, the pack and Kristen, she couldn't. She growled then looked at those around her, pausing when she saw one male "Damon, did you tag him?" She asked, turning to him with her anger buried for the moment. The other wolf nodded and pulled out his phone to bring up Marcus' current location She paused and looked to Kristen "Can you get a portal open on that mountain?"


Jackie looked to the others then to her tattoo "Stone skin, right?" She asked before shifting to her new form and going to help them get everyone to safety. She would use herself as a living barrier so they could move the ones in harms way.

Aurora growled and flew to the mountain. She would use her body to block shots from there even as she headed to take out the sniper.

Skylar shifted, laying her hand over his chest when they were safe behind the giant. "Jaxon, no. Don't be dead."

Danika shifted after a while so she could run in her natural form. She just wanted to be away from the fighting though she wouldn't leave Aurelius now. She didn't know there was any other way to go.

Sorcha looked at them as they were introduced, giving a curtsey to the king but only dipping her head to the others as was custom. She returned her gaze to Racine, letting him take her hand though she wasn't certain what for until he kissed the back. "Welcome, I hope your stay is pleasant" She said gently, hoping that a war wouldn't break out while they were here. 

Aaron looked over to the princess then to Elina when she curtsied. He bowed respectfully to her then looked back to Elina and smiled again. "Lord?" He asked through their link, not wanting to upset anyone here. He didn't mind the title at all, especially if it meant he could stay by her side. It was a less than a god, but he didn't press to be called that either.

Zypher panicked as he watched a gargoyle coming for him. He knew it wasn't Sergio and Anna had told him Markus had a gargoyle trailing Don. He felt for his gun and tried to pull himself up to aim. But he couldn't manage it. His coughing intensified, as did the blood coming up. "No" He replied huskily.

Orson called out, "She friend! Let her help you!"

Aeval glanced over the area and let a serpentine hiss out. This was not an honorable fight. It was cowards way of fighting. She followed Aurora dutifully as they headed to track the sniper. As they drew closer, Aeval called her elements to form a wall around the sniper to prevent his escape. They were high enough that the human couldn't climb them, but a dragon could get to him. ( )

Jaxon turned his head and looked to Skylar. "I had to do it. She's more important then me." He said weakly. As he struggled to raise his hand to stroke her cheek. His heartbeat slowed down dangerously.

Aurelius shifted to her griffin to have a larger gate to her strides. She ran beside the unicorn as she ran gracefully through the woods.

"That is my deepest wish. Upon my honor, I shall strive to uphold the peace treaty." Racine replied honestly.

Elina giggled in Aaran's mind. She spoke mentally, "We all know you are a god, Aaran. But I guess Racine didn't want Avalon to know that. Maybe you are the reason he only asked for four in his entourage. How do the humans say, "Your our Ace in the hole."?"

Jackie stopped beside Zypher and looked down at him, shielding them with her wings "Zypher, it's me, Jackie, calm down and let Orson heal you so we can go to the others." She said then looked at Orson "Heal him enough so that we can get him out of harm's way, then I can go back for others.

Aurora grinned happily at the wall that formed, flying faster to get to it and smash it with the human still inside,so the shards would kill him, and if he happened to survive that, then she would kill him with her claws herself.

"I know you had to, I just don't want to lose you" Skylar said, reaching for his hand to hold it in hers. Even she knew this was a fatal blow, though she wished differently.

Danika would lead Aurelius to her cave and inside, stopping there to look at the decorations the phoenix family had helped her decorate the bare cave and make it lively. She looked to the griffen and wondered what she thought of it.

Sorcha smiled at that then dipped her head again "Then, shall we go in?" She asked calmly.

Aaran shrugged and continued in their link "Not a very good one, but I am working on it." He said about being a god. He didn't think he was very good, mostly because he needed help to even control his powers and not kill everything around him. "Freezing people tot he floor shouldn't be a hard thing to do here, stone does take ice easier"

Zypher frowned at Jackie's voice. But nodded as he held still for Orson to heal him.

Orson placed his hand over the opening of the wound, taking it into himself while knitting the flesh back to it's original condition.

Zypher's coughing evened out and he took a deep breath as he stood up with Orson's help. Zypher looked to Jackie and nodded.

The sniper screamed as the razor sharp shards sliced and diced him. (×_×)
Aeval smiled at the clever use of her wall. She then flew in and blew on the shards to return them to the earth.

Jaxon felt strange all of a sudden. He felt a tingling deep in his head. All at once, it spread outwardly. He vaguely saw a blue glow radiating from his skin. When it faded, he felt fine. "What just happened? " He asked Skylar curiously. He then felt his head after he took off the shirt. "It's gone!" He said with wonder.

Aurelius shifted back to human and looked around moment. She turned to Danika and smiled as she said, "It's one of the most amazing thing I've ever seen. Did you do this by yourself? "

Racine smiled again and said respectfully, "Yes, by all means. Princess Sorcha." He then walked with her.

Ender glanced to the Sylphs on each side of the throne room doors. At his nod, the opened the doors for the group. He then took up a position in back as they moved forward.

Elina smiled devilishly up at Aaran. "It's that critical thinking that makes you such a dangerous adversary. " She purred softly in his mind.

Aurora looked to Aeval then turned to search the mountain for backups to that one. He couldn't have left just one to attack and betray them all.

Skylar gasped and sat up at the glow, staring at him in shock. She didn't know what had happened or how, but she was very glad of it, since he was still alive and with her.

Danika shifted and shook her head "The phoenix who found me (Forgot the name) She and her family helped me to decorate the cave so it would look better for me." She said and smiled softly "She gave me a name and a home since I don't know my own"

Sorcha walked with them, highly curious but not asking questions, after all she would have a spell to do in just a few minutes to save Jackdaw and give him the chance to fight Vatgkan. All was ready and waiting on the two royals to give the word.

Aaran grinned then shrugged "I did learn it from the generals though. Them and having it happen even when I didn't want it to" He said in their mind as they started to walk again.

"I can see that." Zypher said as they walked. But once in the portal, he frowned as he noticed Anna and Kristen arguing. He nodded to Orson and Jackie for their help. Then walked over, "What's going on? " He asked quietly.

Orson asked Kristen the same thing using their bond.

Aeval flew slow circles riding the air current, while she searched for other gunmen.

Jaxon shook his head. "It doesn't matter. I'm alive! I can't believe it" He said happily as he hugged Skylar. He then said, " Now I'm going to chew your ear about not getting to safety. You could have been shot or worse. What were you thinking?!"

"You are fortunate to have found such friends. They really do make this world a whole lot better. They did a lovely job. " Aurelius said with conviction, as she continue to look around.

Avalon was sitting in her throne with her Sylphs throughout the room. She watched passively, as Sorcha and Racine came through the door first.

Elina smiled at him again. He was always so modest. Just one of the many things she loved about him. But as they drew closer to the open doors, she sobered. She then looped her arm around Aaran's elbow. Her relaxed air, gone. She had her game face on. The face she'd worn for centuries, long before she'd met Aaran.

Jackdaw walked silently to the throne room with Spyro. He was anxious yet relieved that this would be over soon. He held his head high without fear of hiding behind a false identity. He was once again himself. As they entered the throne room through the queen's private door, he saw that Racine was just arriving. Spyro stopped at the far left and waited until Jackdaw was required.

Anna blinked and looked to Zypher, staring at him for a long moment before simply running to him and throwing her arms around his neck. The way he had gone down and the others surrounding her to make her go to safety had made her think he had been hit worse and had died on her.

"She wanted to go to the mountain for revenge on the shooter, but I can't go that far without having been there yet." Kristen said to Orson through their link. "I also didn't want to send her where she or the others would likely be hurt before they could make a difference."

Aurora circled around then shook her head and looked to Aeval "I don't see any more, do you?" She asked. She couldn't believe there would be only one...but then again, "Check the roads away from this place, and the woods."

Skylar frowned and dipped her head at his tongue lashing then looked at him again "I couldn't leave you out there alone and dying." She said then looked up "And I didn't stay where it wasn't safe, see, we are safe from bullets behind the giant."

Danika smiled and nodded "Yes, I know I am. They took me in in a way so I wouldn't be all alone." She said and went over to fix a pot on a shelf. "I don't know where they all went off to. Maybe the gunfire scared them too"

Sorcha went in with the king, looking to Queen Avalon and smiling as she dipped a curtsy then headed over to her place to wait for the trial to begin. She did a last minute check of what she had then stilled to watch them all.

Aaran smiled, holding her arm lightly but possessively. She would easily be able to pull away if she wanted to, but he still got to keep a 'mine' hold on her to silently warn any other males off from trying her. He didn't even realize the posture change as he looked around the throne room, bowing to the queen when they came in along with the others.

"Hey, I'm all healed up. Our pack has connections. Remember? " Zypher said with mild humor. He had thought he'd never hold her in his arms again. He nuzzled her neck to breathe in her scent. He still had the taste of his blood in his mouth and nose. Her closeness and scent calmed him immensely.

Orson looked to Anna briefly, before he walked over to Kristen. "We cannot open portals into Menagerie anymore. Fey magic is blocked there. It is warded aginst it. You did right, she would of had to go in the front door. " He spoke in her mind. He then looked across the battlefield to the other portal he'd opened. Bertram and Degan were gathering wounded and putting them inside. It seemed the gunfire had stopped. That's when he heard a pained grunt. He searched for it's source. That's when he saw Keira laid out on the ground. "Come, I'll teach you how to heal. " He said as he took Kristen's hand.

Markus pulled out his cell and answered it. "Yes, is it done?"

Haden's handler explained the failure of plan A.

"Then we go with plan B. Release Haden, he'll know what to do, he has his orders. Let's see how they handle an invisible adversary. I want their leaders dead!" Markus replied angrily. Before ending the call.

The handler looked to the massive cage that looked empty. He sighed as he stepped back and pressed the remote release button. The cage slid backwards with the velocity of the Hades hound's charge. It's invisible claws dug deep furrows in the ground as it ran full boar. The handler mounted his horse and got out of there.

Aeval widened her search, but she didn't find another sniper. She was about to turn back, when a silver flash caught her attention. She closed in to find an empty cage. She made a vocalization to call Aurora over. "What do you make of this?" She asked her sisters curiously. Pandora studied the clawed earth. "Something larger is loose? " she stated the obvious.

Jaxon leaned back against the giant. He crossed his arm in all seriousness. "Are you justifying your self-endangermentand recklessness?" He asked sternly as he raised an brow in challenge.

Aurelius looked around at that. "They won't get mad I'm here?" She asked cautiously.

As the last one entered, the doors were shut quietly. Ender walked around the side of the room and the gathered royals. He dutifully took his position at Avalon's right side, next to her throne.

Elina enjoyed Aaran's possessive grip upon her. She wanted all to know she was taken by this glorious male. Invigorated and empowered she looked the royals in the eyes. She delighted in the looks of assessment and envy. Even though it didn't show upon her face. She knew Aaran was a dashingly handsome male and he was all her's.

Avalon didn't acknowledge Ender's presence. She nodded to Sorcha as she curtsied. But after that, she only had eyes on Racine. "Welcome back to our father's kingdom..to my kingdom....King Racine." She said flatly.

Racine stepped forward and bowed his head diplomatically. "It is good to be back here, even under the present circumstances. However they shall conclude. Just as your hospitality is greatly appreciated by both my entourage and myself. You are most generous, Queen Avalon. " He replied formally, before he looked up at her. As he did so, they locked gazes for a long moment, before they both looked away simultaneously. Racine then turned to look around the room in curiosity. He saw a lot of familiar faces. He acknowledged them with a nod. Before turning to face the queen once more. "I assume we are doing the trial now?" He asked curiously.

Avalon looked to Sorcha and explained, "We are doing a public regression. To determine Jackdaw's guilt or innocence. I wanted you in attendance to witness it."

Racine nodded thoughtfully before replying, "Doing that will prove nothing. For Jackdaw was not a part nor was he privy to such events of our father's death. In the spirit of good faith, I shall offer myself for this regression. For you'll get the whole story that way. Without the tediousness of vocalizing it."

The gathering gasped audibly. As did Jackdaw. Avalon glanced sharply at the assembly to resume order. "If that is what you wish, king Racine, so be it. Sorcha are you good with this? " She asked quietly.

Anna breathed in his scent then pulled back just enough to be able to look him in the eyes "Our connections cannot always stop death." She said quietly. "Chance and luck both have a role in that, and they can turn on you in a moment."

Kristen nodded and turned away to walk with Orson. She was glad he was unhurt and there with her again as she held his hand. When they reached Kristen and Jason, she knelt to watch, a shadow in his mind so she could feel what to do

Aurora flew over to Aeval and landed, looking at the claw marks and checking the size against her own. "I did not see anything this size out here." She said then started following the trail, occasionally sniffing at it, though dragons were not as good at tracking as hounds or wolves would be. When she saw where it was headed, she looked to Aveal again "Fly ahead and warn them, so they are not caught off guard, I will follow these and try to stop it if I can."

Skylar looked down then shrugged "I am a guardian, that is what we do. We put ourselves in danger to save others who are too hurt or weak to save themselves" She said quietly then raised her eyes to meet his "I couldn't leave you there in the way of the bullets."

"Why would they? They gave this cave to me and said I could invite friends, even though I don't remember having any" Danika said, tilting her head curiously.

Sorcha looked to Racine then back to Avalon "If he does not mind it, one or another makes little difference to the spell" She said then glanced to Jackdaw and back to Racine before standing to go and start the spell over the king. Soon an opaque bubble would surround them so that all could see the memories being brought forth

"I know that fact well. We live in the realm of death and dieing. But when I'm granted a reprieve with a second chance, I'll not waste it." He said with conviction as he closed the distance between them and kissed her passionatly.

Orson carried help Keira to sit up. He then told Kristen, "You must cover the wound with your hand and draw it into yourself. That is how we trick our life force to heal outwardly." He then closed his eyes and did as he'd described.

Keira stilled at the strange sensation. There was a movement from within and a warming. Then all at once,the pain went away. When Orson removed his hand from her back, she turned to see a shattered bullet in his palm. She reached to picked up the largest piece amazed. "Now that's a handy trick. " She said as she looked up at Orson wide-eyed. "Thank you." She said softly.

Aeval glanced to the cage before launching into the air to go warn the others. "Be careful Aurora. She called back to her. Aeval flew as fast as she could. When she got to the clearing she shouted, "Something been unleashed! We found a cage in the trees!"

Bertram glanced up at the dragon's words as she came in and landed in the middle of the clearing. He looked to Degan as the continued to carry the wounded wolf to the portal. "It seems we can't catch a break." He said frustrated.

"You are right. I'm sorry for questioning you dedication to your pack. You're a Guardian and a very good one. I just can't see why saving me was worth the risk. I knew I was dieing, I just wanted you safe. You evoke raw emotions from me. Ones I'm not accustomed to. But here I am, restored with more questions then understanding. I need to find out what has happened to me." Jaxon apologized sincerely.

" I don't know, your surrogate family seems very loving and caring. And these are dangerous times, a stranger sometimes may not be welcomed. That's all I ment by it." She explained gently. She then smiled, " Here your memories are limited and I remember far too much." Aurelius said ironically. But then she paused and looked to Danika, as she realized something else. "You know, I haven't had a vision of you, beyond our meeting. That's a first for me. It's a relief, really." She explained simply.

Racine stood still as the past was displayed. It was like viewing a movie from a one person perspective. He watched detached as his memories were searched and then played forward in real-time. His eyes were drawn from the past, to focus on Sorcha. He watched her as she concentrated on her magic.

Avalon watched silently as Racine's memories were viewed. She saw the events played out. The harsh words and hate-filled eyes of her father as Racine confronted him about atrocities committed to an innocent. Avalon glanced to Elina shocked, but quickly returning to watching.

Jackdaw watched as Racine used the Unseelie stone in the hilt of a dagger as he drove it through the kings heart. As the king fell to his knees, Racine commanded his fey wolves to attack. Jackdaw was sickened as his pack mates shifted to dismembered and devour parts of King Kaerft. He had to look away at times.

Elina stood tall and watched as Racine gave up everything to seek vengeance for her mother. She hadn't been there, but now she saw all. She looked away to look to Racine with glossy eyes. She wouldn't cry. She had to be strong.
