"No, the magic elves use can really be used by anyone, if we offer to teach it to them. We taught a human once, his name was Brom. He had been abandoned by his family for being blind in one eye and managed to wander so far into the woods that he found our kingdom. He was just a harmless child, so we took him in and raised him. Brom became extremely skilled with our magic, but stayed loyal and never used it against our kind." Islanzadi told Cicero pleasantly.
"Of course, most humans were more reasonable, responsible, and hard working back then. So it wasn't difficult to find a human with peace of mind. I doubt I could ever find a human like that again, their society has changed so much." She sighed.

Cicero smiled and said, "That was very nice of you to teach him. He was very lucky yo find acceptance and a purpose all st once." He looked to Islanzadi and spoke of his feelings for her in his native tounge.

Shane kept rubbing her back as she seemed to settle a bit "That is simple enough, you learn to be your own person now. You become the better person we are all meant to be."
~~~
Star shifted, standing and looking to the queen then bowing her head to her when Falkirk introduced her. When the water stopped swirling around her quite as much, she moved to stand by her mate's side, taking his hand in hers.
"I am called Queen Nabal Aryxon. Tell me what is happening in your realm since we were banished to this one." She said, letting them go together.
~~~
Sorcha moved back then shifted to her fae dragon form, looking around then humming softly as she searched the area for any magic that would stand out from the tree and waterfall magic nearby.

Bardou had paused and was staring at the tree of life. He glanced to the others then moved closer to look at one thing he had never expected to see again in his life.He slowly moved closer, touching his nose to the trunk of the tree then bowing his head before turning to go and look at the waterfall. "Falkirk, Star?" He asked as he caught their scents. Not that old either. He followed them then snorted and stopped, scanning around the area then going back to where they both disappeared together. "Odd" He said, searching for Jackdaw's mind to let him know what he had found there.
~~~
"No, it is not that hard to learn, just a different way to use your muscles." Ember said with a smile "It is nothing like a gun, beyond that you can be further away from your target than a sword or other blunt instrument."
"This is an odd contraption" Rana said after a few floors had passed. "To be able to go up and down with whatever can fit in it. What did your people call it again, an elevator?" She asked and looked to Navar again "I like to watch the numbers change but it doesn't feel anything like flying."
~~~
Anna nodded and sighed "I may not know most of the history and abilities we may have from our fae ancestor, but we all know that kind of grief." She said then focused her gaze on an apple "I twirled to Zypher and his attempt to twirl back soothes me, but another part is not satisfied with that. It is enough but I can feel that it is missing something."

Lexi nodded slightly and looked to Shane. "I now know what it means to be truly grateful for the second time in the same day. I will be a better person, I promise."

(Awesome characters by the way. :) )
Falkirk settled a bit at the physical touch of his mate. He gathered his thoughts and answered the queen honestly. Telling her all that had happened in their absence, down to the decline of Anstopfia's habit.
~~~
Jackdaw paused in his digging when Bardou conveyed his discovery of Star and Falkirk's scents. Curious, Jackdaw quickly ran to the location to see where their scent trail left off. But concluded that they probably visited and took off to head back to the castle. But there was another scent he didn’t understand. It was foreign in nature and it didn't set right with him. "Ehat us that? He asked Bardou. To see if he recognized it.
Maxton looked to the two fey wolves curiously. But jumped into the grave to carefully remove the soil without disturbing the bones.
~~~
"Now it's going to take a skilled teacher to teach this old cat some new tricks. " Cadeon teased Ember. "But something tells me, I'll have the very best there is."

Navar returned his attention to Rana and smiled. And nodded, "Yep! An elevator. A truly amazing invention, for the skyscrapers could never of been so high without them. The stairs would be ungodly. I flew on a unipeg once. I agree, it doesn't simulate natural flight at all." He said thoughtfully.
~~~
Ravek glanced to her tattoo like markings around her neck. Realizing that they were new to her and recalling what Kallen had told him about Bardou and how he'd lived. "My friend I'd thought long dead had a mortal mate. Your ancestor may be able to guide you through this." He replied softly. He then looked to Zypher across the room and added, "I don't know if you can truly soul bound with a mortal. That may be what is missing."
Reaper frowned in thought and said, "Strangely enough, this fellow named Markus had a spell upon the fire dragon. To make him look like another the king wanted, so that once he was brought back to the stronghold, he'd attack King Racine's people. But Racine didn't fall for it and the ruse was found out. Fortunately King Racine had an ice god with him and he couldn't do as much damage. Then all at once, the fire dragon left the fight, as if he was being called away. So I followed at a discreet distance to find out why. That's when I saw a female shifter in a suit of armor with a fire dragon ring. It was that ring that had called him to her. For he treated her like his master. I'd say they've either changed to adapt or have all been enslaved to control their temperaments to others desires. As far as the female Balor, I saw her in my human form and she seemed very childlike, she apparently went to ground early and stayed. She was speaking of Roman times." Reaper hoped he'd made some sense and that he wasn't just rambling aimlessly. He looked to Slygotha for her opinions on his observations.
Slygotha rubbed her chin thoughtfully. "Hmm. So as far as we know, the one red dragon you saw was enslaved to a device that bent his will and stymied his overbearing tendencies? Well, perhaps there is a silver lining. At least there are no reds to rampage around like the clods they are, stirring up the locals into veritable mobs. I never did care for them. I suppose it could be said that each race of dragon believes itself superior, but there is no haughtiness like a red dragon." Slygotha gazed over her wyrmlings, as they settled into an after food coma, dogpiled and sleeping fairly peacefully. Nidhogg had finished her meal, and tucked herself up against Slygotha for her nap.
" The balor is some sort of shifting elemental dragon? Does it blend into a particular element, like earth, fire and water? Is it like Tiamat, one of the dragon goddesses of old, who had five heads, each possessing of the five main chromatic dragons, black, red, green, blue, and white? Tiamat, who knows if that monster still lives. It is said that she is the progenitor to all the chromatics, but I've never put much stock into the stories. Still, it would be interesting if they were somehow related.
If the balor you met had been sleeping this whole time, that would indeed be a long sleep. Perhaps it was some sort of stasis spell? Rome was about when I hatched, I know that, but if she was but a child, something must have happened to halt her growth. Could that be it? "
Cicero smiled and said, "That was very nice of you to teach him. He was very lucky yo find acceptance and a purpose all st once." He looked to Islanzadi and spoke of his feelings for her in his native tounge.
"Yes. He was a mess when we found him, horribly depressed. But we managed to put him back on his feet soon enough." Islanzadi then slightly titled her head curiously, not understanding what Cicero had said.
"What did you say?" She asked intently.
Lexi nodded slightly and looked to Shane. "I now know what it means to be truly grateful for the second time in the same day. I will be a better person, I promise."
Shane smiled at her again. "You already are." He said then stood. "Get your bath and some sleep. We will see you when you are ready to come out again. And don't worry about Ian, we were expecting some kind of threat against the witch's house, that is why it is a trap now."
~~
Nabal frowned as she listened to the stories, having food and drinks annd chairs beought in since it was a lot to cover. "Why are the fae only just now starting to look forr us?" She asked finally.
~~~
Bardou snorted then shook his head "Magic, old magic." He said with a frown. He searched the area again then shook his head . "Itcould be Purvis if I am remembering right."

Sorcha looked at the grave, searching it with her magic then shaking her head. "He has magic items with him, but they are not the stone we are looking for. "
~~~
Ember chuckled softly and nodded then kissed him gently. "That you will." She said cheerfully.
Rana chuckled softly at that. "A unipeg? That must have been interesting and an interesting story as well."
~~~
Anna touched her markings then sighed, "That is what scares me." She said honestly then looked to him again. "You have the certainty that she loves you as you love her. Nothing can take that away from you.

"What did you say?" She asked intently.

"I said, "You are far more beautiful to me, then even the beauty of this place can offer. "" Cicero declared to her proudly.

Reaper settled down comfortably and listened quietly to his mate. When she finished, he shook his head slightly, "Yes, you are very right about the silver lining. I too wonder about the ancient one. As far as the Balor, she didn’t stay long, for the king tasked her and her companion with a mission on his behalf. So my knowledge on the Balor is limited. But she wasn't young in body, but in mentality and knowledge of things." He clarified quietly. He was enjoying watching the wyrmlings sleeping.

"I said, "You are far more beautiful to me, then even the beauty of this place can offer. "" Cicero declared to her proudly.
Islanzadi flushed as she heard his kind compliment. "You flatter me far more than I deserve." She told him, smiling slightly. She still was not sure if she truly loved him or not, but his compliments were greatly appreciated.

"Very interesting," Slygotha mused, looking thoughtful. "It has been wonderful to hear of your travels, my love. I suppose with the lack of dragons in modern times, we need not worry so much about dragon slayers."

Shane smiled at her again. "You already are." He said then stood. "Get your bath and some sleep. We will see you when you are ready to come out again. And don't worry about Ian, we were expecting some kind of threat against the witch's house, that is why it is a trap now."

~~~
(They don't now about Purvis and his stone or am I wrong? That's Bardou and Maxton. They weren't in the receiving hall to overhear.)
Falkirk frowned at that question and answered, "We never knew what happened to the Balor. Let alone that you were banished here. So many had died and fled Anstopfia. If it's not to bold of me to ask, your highness. But who banished you here?"
~~~~
Maxton sighed softly in frustration and climbed out of the hole. That when the fey wolves caught his attention. "Did you find something over there?" He called out.

Jackdaw shifted and looked over to Maxton and Sorcha. He then explained what Bardou had found. Before glanced around with his eyes, trying to see evidence of a portal. "If the stone was somehow here to his portal, how would we open it?" He asked curiously.
~~~~
Cadeon chuckled lightly and wrapped her in his arms. "Oh, now that was all the encouragement I needed. I'll be Robin hood before I'm done with learning the bow and arrow. " He teased playfully.
"Oh yes, quite a story I assure you. If ever we get a dull moment, I shall enlighten you with it." Navar promised Rana.
~~~
"Oh Anna, do you doubt that Zypher loves you? It is evident to all who watch you together." Ravek expressed his observations of the pair.
