High tomorrow - 103 degrees ...... Heat index = 115......Aarrrggghhhhh

Gonna hit 100 here today,,I been putting ice packs in my birds cages when the temp starts to rise about lunch time, that seems to help with the awful heat.I use the 8x8 size packs and they last untill the sun goes down, then I have to bring them in,wash the poop off them and refreeze,,,after I seal them up in a freezer bag,as my wife demands,I don't understand it,, little bird poop never hurts anyone,,,Right?

lol.........Funny you said that........I got 48 of the drier chicks out of the bator at daylight this morning, and put them in a brooder outside that has a heat lamp with the thermostat set at 95 degrees like I always start them out at. Walked by an hour later and they were at the opposite end of the brooder than the lamp (which is right opposite from their normal behavior as newborns). That means it's pretty doggone hot here!

I don't think that it will offset the extra money for air conditioning.

Dude, I'd gladly cut back from 2 bloney and mater sammiches for lunch down to 1, and spend that "savings" on some extra kilowatt hours if it would just get back down to ..... say.........93 degrees with a H/I of 100!
