You know, I've not raised my mhp. It's 1.5" in the back and 2.5" in the front. My chicks are 2 weeks old and it's so warm out here in Alabama that I only leave it on because we go into the upper 50's overnight. They feather out so fast with the mhp that I could, and probably will, turn it off this weekend. I also have a wool hen in there for them, but when I go out at night to look they're all just laying down on the bedding, not even piled together. Play it by ear....
