Hollywood Freeway Chickens have always had a lot of pluck

An overturned poultry truck brought them to the area near the 101 and 170 freeways in 1969. Despite a city effort to completely remove them, they seem to keep coming to roadways to roost.

One article I won't be showing the kids... I can just hear the arguments now... "See... Twinkies are good for you"

Animals are more likely to survive in the 'wild' than humans, simply because they're not as far removed from their basic roots. Even domesticated cats and dogs go feral and survive, don't see why everyone is so shocked that a bird (gasp) could survive.

But that's LA for you... can't believe what you see.
