I have one hen that is sooo funny.
I live in Arizona and it is HOT at this time of the year. My chicken run is under the shade of a mesquite tree. The watering dish gets filled automaticly whenever the drip irrigation comes on. It even overflows so that the ground downslope from it is moist. The other hens make wallows in the moist soil and spend the hot part of the day there but not Funny Henny. She stands in the watering dish to keep her tootsies cool. She gets so relaxed there that she closes her eyes and begins to sleep. And you know what? The more relaxed she gets the lower she sinks on her haunches until her derriere almost touches the water. Then she wakes up with a start, stands up straight, looks around, only to do it again.
