I should have said your goose looks A LOT LIKE mine. Now that I looked a little closer I believe your goose has a bit differently shaped beak than mine does. My bad.

First of all.... it is a male! Second... Ganders hiss when they feel threatened or are protecting something like if a female has a nest of eggs and you are near it then they get mad about that and would hiss at you!

@servpolice can you enlarge the pic she posted?I'm quite good in sexing geese and so are a lot of other goose owners so if you take a picture close enough of the goose you want to sex we can sex it.
Just to let you know females also hiss not just males.
So if a goose hisses out of nowhere it doesn't mean it's a gander![]()
