Thanks, will do for sure.Okay. The Normal treatment is 5-7 days in the water, then another 7-14 days at 1/4 the amount in the water. I suggest doing this.
I have been think about starting a thread or article about drugs stuff to have on hand for folks with turkeys and peafowl. Seems every year that people find themselves in this situation and by the time they get the stuff needed their birds are dead.![]()
I think of it as an investment. Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. My current bottle of metronidazole was made in 2016 and expires this year.Common Experctation dates? Are they accurate? Or is it good for longer
Every time I buy corid it's less than a year before it expires.
Gets expensive to toss
Safeguard Goat Wormer 0.6ml given 2/24.
(0.23ml/lb, repeat in 10d) Repeat dose due 3/5.
Metronidazole/praziquantel (API General Cure) 1/4 packet started orally 2/25. Daily doses=3.
Fish-zole (metronidazole) 1/4 tab started 2/28. Daily doses=3.
(Suppose to be x5d)
Baytril 10% orally started 2/27.
Doses through 3/3.
Dose 10mg/kg-15mg/kg
(Twice Daily x5d)
Corid 9.6% 0.25ml orally twice daily x2d, then 2.5ml per quart drinking water....started on 2/28. (As suggested by @casportpony "Normal treatment is 5-7 days in the water, then another 7-14 days at 1/4 the amount in the water".)
Jedds.com, Allbirdproducts.comThe wormout gel dose is 47 ml per gallon for two days. The gel is 20 mg per ml.
47 x 20 = 940 mg per gallon.
If the (WormerDeluxePowder) powder is 10% (100 mg per gram), and a teaspoon probably weighs 3 grams, so that's 300 grams per teaspoon, which is not enough for poultry. You will need 10 grams per gallon for two days, then repeat in 10-14 days.
edited to add:
The literature says one teaspoon weighs five grams, but I suspect they lie.![]()
Going to go weigh me a turkey!!!
And give a dose of medicine while I'm at it.
