Ugh, you are all a bunch of liars! Everyone knows that you have to leave for a few days on an important errand before they will start. "Hey have you seen her today?" "Nope. I think she's gone! *giggle*" "OKAY LADIES!!! Let 'em rip, she's gone!" Then when you come home you find a few eggs.

Okay so maybe it's not fool proof, but I've heard stories. I hope your girls lay soon for you. If they do, then send some of that laying dust our way and I'll sprinkle it on my 20 weekers who haven't laid a thing yet.

I too am a compulsive nest checker .. and I am "testing" their sqaut reflexes ... my sex links [3 red and 1 black ] have only been laying 1-3 weeks [ one red started 3 weeks ago the others just started this week] , only one sings and 3 of the 4 are laying ... OH! AND they were squating for almost a month before they layed .... they were PAST 20 weeks when they finally put me out of my misery and gave me a darn egg . BUT since I am a nest checker I watched the first egg be layed .... If you are like me patience is not a strong point .... I was so relieved when they finally gave me an egg ... then I was always looking at the egg in disbelief...

Oh my goodness! I guess the tale of people desperate for their first egg (and if the post about it on BYC) it comes true!!! I left for school at about 7:20 am. I had to work after school so I just went straight to work. On my first day of getting eggs I GOT TWO!!!! I'm so esctatic!!! I came home 8:30 pm to find two *hard shelled* eggs laid perfectly in the nest box! Yay!!! They are definitely smaller than a store bought egg, but not tiny

I would post pics if I had the ability but I can't....

Oh well! 17 weeks 2 eggs! Hmmm... I think that comes out to 300$ per egg for all of their expenses+the coop and run!
