Has anyone ever used hog rings to attach 1/2 '' hardward cloth to your chain link fences? How did it work out and do you have any other suggestions?![]()
If you are worried about it, you can use rebar wire twisters. It's what I used to connect my HC to other HC and kennel fencing.I was watching a video of using the hog rings. Do they then have sharp points sticking out? I wouldn't think that would be safe for flapping around in.![]()

I used 1/2" rings, to attach 1/2" HWC to chain link. What size hog rings did y'all use with your hardware cloth. I'm looking at stainless steel 18g 1/2" Ă—1/2" hardware cloth to enclose my pvc aviary, the mosquito net is wearing out lol. But I cant figure out what size rings i need.
The ones I got were these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000NOYRVG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 - it's a tight fit but if you put them in the openings diagonally it'll go far in enough to get the ring secured.I couldn't really get the jaws of the pliers through the mesh. Maybe I bought the wrong size kit?![]()
I see. I had tried with these. The ones I got were these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000NOYRVG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 - it's a tight fit but if you put them in the openings diagonally it'll go far in enough to get the ring secured.
That's pretty cool, it avoids having to manually load 1 ring at a time. But if it doesn't fit in the wire openings, that's a problem.I see. I had tried with these.
