holes in coop wall

i cant tell if this hole is created by my chickens or what. any ideas?! either way do i need to worry about it/close it up?

I would definately cover that. Rodents (rats) will chew thru wood to get to food. Once the hole is there it can be used by a weasel who will kill every chicken you have in one night.
You might want to consider using hardware cloth around your coop perimiter.

Definitely looks like rats. Definitely cover the hole up, and as mentioned, add a HC skirt around the coop and run.

will do this summer. ill patch it until then. its my old shed i converted so its covered the side and fron with the run but not the other side/back.
