Enjoy the weekend everyone!

All of this Dresden plate conversation made me wonder...is this a dresden plate with points???
Someone I work with was cleaning out her mil's house and found them. She said she'd give them to me or toss them in the trash! YIKES. I told her I'd sew it up and give it to her as a gift...she said she really didn't like the lady any how so don't bother!

Each one is different fabrics, pretty, older looking. Some hand stitching, some machine I think.

Yes, that is a Dresden plate.
It appears the fabrics in that one may be flour sacking....at least the white background print and the green center. Did the friend find these tucked away in a cedar chest or trunk?

If they are hand sewn, I'd take out the black thread and finish the quilt by hand the old fashioned way by turning under the edges onto the background fabric which may be sugar sacking weight fabric. The backing should also be sugar sacking weight. When I couldn't find original sugar sacking, I've found a bone white at Hancocks to finish some old quilts.
You may have a real treasure.
