I have Red Sex Links and they lay those size eggs every once in awhile. I try to see if any of them are walking funny after laying such a huge egg. They all seem to be very happy and content, can't tell which one has laid such an egg!

I just took the ruler to my egg and you have me beat by 1/4 of an inch. I thought my egg was big. I have RIR's also and with only 2 hens laying it's hard to eat eggs in the morning. LOL Today I only got one egg.

i have got four eggs like that. one was a three yoker all the rest was douple yoks. they came from my white leg horns
