You're too cute. She's there to protect them not eat them lol!
She sleeps about 2 feet from two 1 month old guineas and the 3 1/2 month old one. She's very good with all the birds. She was raised with them :)

9 more post to hit the 1000 mark, time flys when your having fun. what does flaming mean? some one on her was mad about a hatchery i was talking to her and the staff blocked her post. i guess you cant say bad things about the sponsors even if they are in the wrong

hi granny, flaming is like a big burn on someone, a flame war is something that happens online , often when someone is trolling..troll means they say inflammatory thing,s just to get everyones feathers all flying.. and that starts a flame war ...
Being online for some people is like a costume party. People get rude fast. also no body language to read to see if its just a terrible joke or meant to be offensive.
Forums are scary places where this happens lots. So far this place seems ok .

that hound is gorgeous..lol..face of a police dog..classic. !
we had a small kestrel sit in our oak tree every day one spring, but he didnt try to take the girls,( they were twice his size) felt very uncomfortable though. That was the same year a lone white pigeon moved in with them too..bought his girlfriend back the next year and she looked at him like he was bonkers and they left.

It never ceases to amaze me how hardy these chickens are, so delicate but such a strong survival instinct.
So glad you rescued your bird.

are they breed to protect? it has the face of police dog. he/ she did you train or did it come natural?

Yes they are a guarding/herding dog. But as with any dog she had to be trained too. I've had baby chicks, ducks, guineas etc in the house off and on since I got her so that helps.
I also use her to herd my Mom's guineas out of my yard. They were coming over at 5am - I get up at 6am...and of course have to loudly announce their arrival...I found it to be a problem! But that's all she does is herd them. And she knows the difference between mine and not mine. She doesn't bother mine at all, but gets super excited when my mom's are in the yard. They must sound different because she knows it's them from inside the house. She may look scary, but she's very sweet and friendly.
