Home Depot Shed...could this be a coop?

Right now we have a 10x12 and we only have about $350 invested in it. Don't get in a rush, you will spend more money than you need to. Look on freecycle.org, craigslist, do like we did call a local mirror company and as for their scrap wood. We got 3 full truck loads of lumber for free. Go to your local lumber yard and ask for the old wood and you can get a huge discount. After saving so much you can probably afford to hire someone to build it for you.

Pelican, that looks nice. I'm in VA and there isn't a Sutherlands anywhere near me.

thechickencrew, I checked on craigslist and didn't see anything. I called a local glass place and they said I could have the wood that the glass comes in, but when my DH and his dad went to go get it, they said they had no idea what they were talking about and never give any of that wood away! I was so mad! I will try freecycle though.

I work for Home Depot and can say right off the bat that the Big Max is not really the best choice. As stated earlier it doesn't have windows and ventilation would have to be worked out.

The Savannah is a special order in most of our stores and then if you want them to install that is even more fees plus delivery. You would be better off with the minibarn or building your own.

Ace King, thanks for the heads up!!! I'll pass that info. to the DH. We actually went to Home Depot yesterday and looked at sheds. We found anohter for about $500 but I cannot remember what it was called.

I think my DH is back to the "build it ourself" option now.

I just want to get something at least started.

Don't get upset if DH wants build a coop. Hey, This way you can say " Honey, I think it needs to be about 10 feet longer and about 8 feet wider, because I want more chicks".

This way you can expand without any concern.
