Greetings. My duck feed situation has been going on for well over a month now, and at this point I've lost any hope of being able to obtain any at this point, and my ducks now spend most of the day foraging outside. I need a homemade duck feed recipe. I currently lack any oats or frozen vegetables, so I cannot use them for any recipe.

I would like the simplest feed I can make using the least ingredients, but will still reach their nutritional needs.

What for?

Its almost impossible to make a nutritionally balanced feed at home, and not very likely that it will be "easy" or with "minimal ingredients".
Knowing what area you live in is very important in helping us figure out what ingredients you have available in your area.
Are you sure your not able to order feed online? Chewy ships anywhere in the US, and has a wide variety of brands to choose from.

My muscovy ducks eat corn/soy based chicken formulated feed, along with supplemental whole and cracked corn and free ranging grass all day. Ive raised over 30 ducks and never lost one, they grow very large, have good healthy eggs. They eat a lot of food, but never had any problem.

I forgot also, they eat dog food and table scraps as 5-10%. Dog food is also a formulated protein rich feed. Could try to supplement that.

Their diet is probably 40% formulated pellet feed, 40% free range, 20% corn. Since the formulated feed is corn and soy based, corn is up to half their diet maybe.

Here are some hanging out.

What exactly is the issue with you getting them duck feed? You mentioned your parents in a previous thread, so I assume you cannot go out yourself and buy some. Are you rural and can't get any? Your parents don't want to spend money on it?
We are able to help better if we know what's going on.
But ducks, especially growing ones, are going to be malnourished if they have not been eating duck food for a month now. This is a bad situation. ☹️
What have you been feeding them since the last thread you made?

Financial issues. Food stamps won't cover pet food. I've been feeding them a variety of human food from my own meals, usually things like rice, soup, eggs, cottage cheese, potatoes, garlic, scraps of lean meat, etc. They also forage whatever's in my backyard too, so likely a lot of greens and a couple insects too.

Thank you. I'll try getting them some more corn in their diet if possible.

I see. I just need something I can make a large batch of and feed them for a while. I cannot order online and do not wish to disclose my area for this.
