Thanks, Zookeeper, but, I was making the liquid/gel soap. It is setting up good and looks and smells good, lol.

I want to know the liquid recipe also! If anyone has a dye-free, fragrance-free version I would really, really love that.

If it is color safe bleach, then 1 cup is sufficient for the whole batch. If its not color safe then don't wash your hubby's white undies with your purple t-shirt.

whats the recipie for that?

1 bar grated Fels-Naptha Soap
1 quart water
1 1/2 cup Arm & Hammer Washing Soda
1 1/2 cup 20 Mule Team Borax
4 Gallon Hot Tap Water
5 Gallon Bucket
Containers to store soap

Grate Fels-Naptha soap. Add to 1 quart water in sauce pan and cook until soap is dissolved and mixed well.

Pour into 5 gallon bucket, add Borax and Washing Soda. Whisk until mixed well. Add 4 gallons of Hot tap water and mix again. Let sit overnight, will be jelly like the next day.

Pour into containers or use out of the bucket. If you use jugs leave room to shake it up before each use, or stir the big bucket.

I added 1 cup Powdered Color Safe Bleach to this batch, just because!!!!!

Remember the bucket can be a drowning hazard for small children.

Where do you get the ingredients... does the Fels-Naptha bar soap come from the grocery store? I've got some old purex containers, would I be able to put this stuff in those, and use about the same amount per full load? I'm interested in this and if it cuts costs that would be great!!!
