Home Necropsy photos -Diagnosis? GRAPHIC PHOTOS

I just realized that I'm eating while looking at these pics too! Twice now! Eighteen years ago when my husband and I started dating, if you'd told me that someday I'd do a full day of farm chores and then I'd be eating a bowl of Life cereal while peering with interest at pics of chicken guts, I'd have run screaming!
We are all crazy peeps huh?.
:lau

It's so interesting to see these pics though...we must know what we are raising in a ...um...what words am I looking for?:barnie

Ok, here's my two cents. I think he might have had a gut issue.

All of the birds I've processed looked like the instructional photo on the inside. the guts are either tan or redish tan. Thanks for posting that pic Kiki!

Your guy had this nasty looking loop of intestine (circled in red), which looks necrotic to me. You can clearly see normal looking intestine coming off of the necrotic area (circled in blue).

This is a picture of human intestines that are necrotic. You can see your bird's intestinte has the same greenish brown color to the necrotic area in the picture below.

With what other people have been saying about his heart looking odd, I think he probably started developing a gut issue - that would have killed him eventually - but it put a strain on his heart, giving him a heart attack.

Is it possible that the necrotic looking tissue started getting the tan color after being touched?
