Hello again,
I have some extra time this morning & have been browsing around on BYC & here you are again............I am very interested in your 4H class on butchering. I want to do my own & haven't done it since I was a kid with my grandmother & even then I was the feather plucker......LOL The 4H group in Lodi does it too & I belong to Delta Poultry group from there but you are alot closer & I have never met the 4H leader there. Is the class open for outsiders like me? Let me know.
Thanks

Well, these guys are getting big fast, and I managed to forget that I have a Mom2Mom sale I'm selling at on the 30th, so I'm going to be doing this the 16th. I should have 4-6lb birds by then...perfect for us!
FrogDoc - I'm about an hour from Midland - I usually run M52 there when I visit friends up there. I think I hop over 57 to whatever road runs through Merrill, to get to 46.
How did your class go? I'm mentally gearing up for mine in a couple of weeks, and I'd sure love to know any lessons learned or things that went really well for you.
I'm going to try to have two pots of water going for scalding, two cones, a couple of tables, and the easy-up set up for shade. People are going to have to bring their favorite knives, ziplocs, and cutting boards. Coolers with ice won't hurt either, I suppose.
I'm going to let some of the 4-Hers practice on my birds if they want, as we'll only be done with one of three fairs at that point. If they want to bring their own, that's fine too.
