I was wondering if y'all could give me some suggestions on homemade gifts for Christmas. I can sew and crochet, but I don't do blankets or quilts I have made a quilt before, but they just take too long to make for me to share with someone on Sunday.

I just downloaded a pattern for an apron. I am going to make my DH a grilling apron for Christmas.

A friend and I were just talking and she mentioned that one year she made caramel corn for her neices and nephews. She found recipes for about a dozen different flavors.

And they all got a bag of each flavor. She remembered: carmel, vanilla, coconut, pineapple, and chocolate covered popcorn. Mostly she remembered the garbage bags full of popcorn that she popped to get enough for everyone.

I thought that sounded like a neato gift.

There are some links to free patterns in the topic on here called: My first quilt - PICTURES ADDED. the links were on the second page.

I have found free patterns for some cool stuff on the web. Here are some ideas:
- eyeglass case - I found a pattern that has two cases together. one side for sunglasses and the other for reading glasses.
- book cover with zipper and carrying handles
- pillowcases
- reusable cloth grocery bags
- can coolers
- insulated totes for water bottles
