It is going to be in the sunlight 8-10 hrs a day. I can always plant few trees to block some sunlight. I live in Washington State so the weather is not really hot year round.

I would probably go with the clear roof that far north, to maximize the light that the plants get. Especially important in the winter when the sun is so low in the horizon. If it gets too hot inside during the summer, open the vents and/or add some shade cloth.
