Homemade PVC turner in homemade incubator question

For those of you that have made a turner out of PVC for your homemade incubators, did you worry too much about the larger hole in the side of your incubator? Did you seal around it somehow? Did you just make it large enough for the PVC to go through? I would like to make one so I don't have to open my incubator at all on this next hatching.

While I haven't actually build my turner yet, I plan on making the hole in the bator just large enough for the PVC to fit through.
