I installed a permanent AC on a window.
I edge glued some red oak boards to make the panel.
It straddles the window casings. attaches to the siding. It is bumped out so that the window can be closed in front of it. thus I will not have to insulate the AC or wrap it with tarps for the winter. Just slide the window shut and I am all set for winter..

this is what it looks like on the inside

I saved $100.oo by not buying an AC mounting sleeve.

note the pitch black curtains, for daytime sleeping..

The kids room is the warmest in summer so I used magnets and command strips to keep the heat blocking curtains closed, which helps the temperature a lot. However, the puppy loves to look out and see the chickens and then chews on the magnets when they fall to the floor.

I take the pants hangers when the kids get new clothes. We cut the clips off and use them for bag clips. I hot glued the magnets for the curtains to recycled clips, now they don't fall on the ground and the puppy can't get them.

I have the second AC frame completed.
I painted one side of it yesterday. this morning I will paint the other side and if the paint dries by late this afternoon, I will mount it to the house. who knows ? maybe I will even get the AC installed ..
