I have a partridge cochin/RIR mix pullet that was born with one weird eye. They were hatched out of an incubator, so I thought maybe it was an eye infection. I treated her & it did not improve. So after a week of applying eye ointment, I stopped treatment.

I just observed her for awhile and made sure she was eating & drinking independently. She is doing great now, still cant see out of the one eye. In fact, she should be giving me eggs any day now! We just will not hatch any of her eggs in case it was something genetic.

Good luck with yours.

It's very possible that this chick had an infection an egg weeping during that incubation. I probably won't breed this one despite the rare breed component due to that potential for genetic causes, and I don't want to keep it alive just for it to suffer. So I hope we can give it a happy pain free existence despite the blindness. Georg ' s story gives me hope since he was completely blind too, as well as all the little ones with just one good eye.
